Pearl Jam: Songs From 'Deluxe' Edition Of 'Ten' Posted Online

Several tracks from the deluxe edition of Pearl Jam's 1991 debut album, "Ten", have been posted on the band's MySpace page. Included are cuts from Pearl Jam's "Unplugged" performance and the Drop In The Park concert which you can get in the "super deluxe" edition of "Ten".

The deluxe edition of "Ten" will arrive on March 24 in four different versions. Each version will include the remastered original album, a completely new remix by O'Brien and six previously unreleased songs from the same period, while different configurations will contain a live DVD, a vinyl copy of the album and a duplicate copy of the original 1990 Pearl Jam demo on cassette.

Pearl Jam will release its ninth studio album on its own, according to Billboard.com. Following its departure from longtime home Epic Records several years ago, the group signed a one-album deal with RCA/J Records for 2006's self-titled eighth effort, which wound up selling 704,000 copies. Now the band has confirmed that it will issue its next outing without a label, although other details are scarce. Singer Eddie Vedder told RollingStone.com, "The new record feels good so far really strong and uptempo, stuff we can sink our teeth into."

The group is about to begin a two-week studio session in Los Angeles with longtime friend and producer Brendan O'Brien, whose last album with the band was 1998's "Yield".

Bassist Jeff Ament said that the non-singing members of Pearl Jam laid down some musical tracks in December, and that Vedder "put rough vocals on about half the stuff we worked on . . . . There's a handful of really great lyrics. Lyrically, that stuff is in the embryonic stage, but there's a handful of lines and a couple of choruses that are just really great. He keeps getting better."

Pearl Jam expects to release the new album sometime in 2009.

Thanks for the report to Blabbermouth.net.

Not bad. A bit too loud though. Try listening for 20 seconds and click Pause. You'll hear it echoing in your ear for half a second.

Funny thing... They sound weird to my ears without that '80s echo', which was the worst part of the original mix. :P

Am I the only one who noticed a non-instrumental brother on the myspace? I find that so rediculously awesome.
And I love the looks of the super deluxe edition, but nto the price tag. I might have to settle for the deluxe.

For me that's not really the issue, it's just that a lot of people are like "all those new Pearl Jam albums suck", whereas they'd probably feel the same way about Ten if both the song selection and the mixing had been giving the "modern" PJ treatment back in '91.

I too miss the hair and the stagediving and of course the epic rockout tracks like Deep and Reach Down, but when it comes to songwriting and giving the fans the smashing liveshow they deserve these guys are as strong as ever. I'm just happy that they didn't forget about this landmark album...

I actually think of the albums (ten and ten new,) as equal aspects Because it still has the same songs, because they sound different, the meaning hasn't changed, and that's what's important to me. I think a lot of people think this way too, but haven't thought of it like closely,

Why was it called ten? It had 11 songs. It should now be called seventeen. My favorite pearl jam album anyway. I just wish it had yellow ledbetter. That song rocks

They were originally called Mookie Blaylock after a basketball player, but their label was worried about copyright so they came up with Pearl Jam and named the album Ten after Mookie Blaylock's number.

Ten was a horrible album in 1991 so why on earth would i want to hear more garbage from it 18 years later. Good marketing idea, Eddie Idiot

Yield is one of my favorites, arguably one of their best.

I do love people who hate/dislike a band and/or artist and then post that thought in a thread about said band and/or artist. It really adds to the thread. That's some kind of genius.....

I'm looking forward to this release. Seems a bit pricey but considering what you get I think it's value for money. Next up, re-release of Vs!!

Here's an idea... Find a hole, and proceed by dying in it. NOW LEAVE!

Oh, and next time, don't post on an article of a band you don't like.

You didn't actually need to make bad words about the first Ten album, everything is good in the right perspective, You just don't get it, =] just say you didn't like it then.

For example I do like the first Ten album, and I'm also gonna like this rebuild of it,

so it's just a matter of taste.
