The Red Hot Chili Peppers recently announced through bassist Flea and drummer Chad Smith's tweets that they would be releasing new songs and B-sides from their "i'm With You" sessions. Now, two of those songs have surfaced and are available for streaming below.
The first "Strange Man" has a few slower and reggae vibes mixed in with typical RHCP instrumentation. On the other hand, "Long Progression" gets a little emotional, with a sick guitar solo at the end.The pair of songs are available for purchase on the band's website on 7-inch singles. The Peppers just finished playing last weekend's Lollapalooza and their current tour also includes a slot in the Austin City Limits festival in early October.
Nice to hear Josh shining on these tracks. Long Progression really should've been on the album in my opinion. Definitely much better than some of the songs that made the album.
They both sound good. But, isn't there gonna be like 20 of these singles coming out? I'm sure as hell not gonna pay 10 bucks each for ten 7-inch vinyls, so I can listen to all these b-sides only on my home stereo.
I hope they release these songs on some kind of compilated album, really would like to buy physical copies, but i´m not sure i want a bajillion singles with 2 tracks on each.
I'm With You wasn't my favorite album by them at first but its growing on me. The first time I listened to Long Progression I enjoyed it I can't wait to hear the other ones
