Reunited Snot Post New Song

The reunited lineup of the legendary Santa Barbara metal/punk rock hybrid Snot featuring original members Mikey Doling (guitar), John "Tumor" Fahnestock (bass), Jamie Miller (drums) and Sonny Mayo (guitar) along with the group's latest addition, former Divine Heresy vocalist Tommy Cummings (a.k.a. Tommy Vext) has posted a new song, "The Band Plays On", on the Snot MySpace page.

Snot has secured a deal with the TKO booking agency (Buckcherry, Fear Factory, Helmet, Motörhead, Mudvayne, The Cult) and plans to go into the studio this winter to record a new album for a summer 2009 release. In the meantime, Snot will play a number of shows, including a fall 2008 tour of the United States supporting Devildriver.

The first Snot headlining shows to be announced are as follows:

08/23 - Club Vegas - Salt Lake City, Utah
10/10 - Key Club - West Hollywood, California

This is epic. Tommy Vext in my opinion is one of the most talented and promising vocalists I've had the honor of seeing live and meeting as of late. I was hoping his next project after Divine Heresy would be promising, and while Snot is nowhere near as intense, the running track is already a good indication of the awesomeness to come. \m/

I loved Snot. The singer sounds cool. It's going to be one of those things where I'll have to listen to it a bunch of times and try to not to compare him to Lynn Strait. The comparison factor has to suck for any new singer. The song had a slight classic Snot sound in the middle, but it sounded forced. I'll definitely pick up an album and go see them.

i love snot they are easily one of my favorite bands,
i'm not sure what I think about the replacement singer yet though,
on one hand i mean he needs to sound like lynn to do those old songs, but obviously he's not as good as lynn so its like maybe they should have just gone for something totally new,
to be honest I think its a little early to make a call I'll have to hear some more material

anyone consider the reason for reuniting, is Sonny Mayo no longer a part of Sevendust, since Clint Lowery is back with the 7Dust bros. I am a huge Snot fan, and a huge Sevendust fan, I even like the s**t Sonny recorded for Vanilla Ice, but I hope the reunion is not because they had nothing better to do. I don't want them to cheapen the name and rep they had when it was about the music. And Lynn's energy and vocal style could not be replaced. period.
