Revocation Premiere 'Surprise! You're Dead!' Cover On UG

Rarely does a band step to the forefront of a genre with such purpose and confidence.

Revocation, the Boston-based modern metal band, have moved from relative obscurity to international critical acclaim and been anointed by the metal press and their peers alike as one of the brightest hopes for the genre at large.

Revocation released their new album "Chaos of Forms" in August, 2011. Today the band exclusively premiere an unreleased song from the "Chaos of Forms" sessions. Listen to Revocation's cover of the Faith No More song "Surprise! You're Dead!" below.

Back in November Revocation have released their video for the track "No Funeral."

The clip was lensed with acclaimed director David Brodsky of MyGoodEye NYC (Municipal Waste, The Black Dahlia Murder, All That Remains, Devin Townsend Project) and can be viewed at this location.

"Chaos of Forms" tracklisting is as follows:

01. Cretin
02. Cradle Robber
03. Harlot
04. Dissolution Ritual
05. Conjuring the Cataclysm
06. No Funeral
07. Fractal Entity
08. Chaos of Forms
09. The Watchers
10. Beloved Horrifier
11. Dethroned
12. Reprogrammed

Didn't listen to the cover yet, but this band is ****ing brilliant! I saw them live when I went to see Quo Vadis; Revocation stole the show and amazed everyone. I love this band and always recommend them to fellow metal heads

Wicked musicianship in this band. I saw them live with Forbidden, but I just could never get over the tasmanian tiger vocals

I strongly recommend everyone look up the song "The Tragedy of Modern Ages" and "Existence is Futile" from the album of the same name. Awesome band.

Dave Davidson shreds the guitar like a BOSS, i just wish they had a solo vocalist rather than him. i think they'd be an even better band than they already are

The original is one of my favourite songs of all time, but I'd say this totally does it justice!

Their songs No Funeral sounds like Metal Malitia is places and a tiny bit of whiplash (metallica songs from kill em all)
I have to say....I don't see why there is any fuss about this band, their "just another metal band"

They mix technical death metal and 80's thrash metal into some wierdly catchy, grinding mayhem. Just give this a listen /watch?v=mmg3jr7Bhfo&ob=av3e

Good cover, drums were a bit try-hard though, I'm not a fan of excessive kick drumming, unless of course the context demands it. Vocalist did a decent job too. Patton owns this too hard though, should check out the FNM performance of this song at Download.
