According to Blabbermouth.net, an audio recording of singer/songwriter Ryan Adams performing an acoustic cover version of Iron Maiden's "Wasted Years" - the 1986 "Somewhere In Time" single he once highlighted in a list of favorite metal songs for Blender magazine - earlier today (Tuesday, August 30) on BBC Radio 2 can be heard in the YouTube clip below.
Adams is currently making the rounds doing media interviews for his new album, "Ashes & Fire", which is scheduled for release on October 11.
The CD was recorded at Sunset Sound Factory in Hollywood, California with producer Glyn Johns, who has previously worked with The Beatles, Bob Dylan, The Clash, The Who and The Rolling Stones.
Great cover but I can't help but wonder when people are going to start thinking Ryan wrote this song. Kinda like the whole NIN/Johnny Cash: Hurt fiasco!

If you knew enough about Johnny Cash, the song "Hurt" was ment to be written by him!
