Sick Of It All Stream New Album

"Based On A True Story", the new album from New York hardcore legends Sick Of It All, is available for streaming in its entirety on the band's MySpace page.

"Based On A True Story" is scheduled for release on April 20 via Century Media Records (one day earlier internationally). The follow-up to 2006's "Death To Tyrants" was recorded Antfarm Studios in Århus, Denmark with Danish producer Tue Madsen. The cover artwork was created by Ernie Parada and can be viewed here.

"Based On A True Story" will be available as super exclusive limited edition in mediabook packaging, featuring a bonus DVD with performance footage from New York and London. Furthermore, the DVD contains an entertaining tour report and shows you the personal sides of the hardcore legends. The album will also be available as colored vinyl (including the entire album on CD format), standard CD and digital download.

Bought Death To Tyrants after hearing 'Take The Night Off' and thought that album was amazing fun. But this just seems to be more of the same.

Agreed, but that's what hardcore is about. You can't really do much more with it than be consistant with your sound and put on one hell of a live show

I agree with you there, and Sick of it All does put on one hell of a live show. There music is just great fun and I'm really looking forward to this album. I will be buying this one.

I'm totally against innovation for the sake of innovation, and I'm happy with this record because good music is good music and Sick of it All do classic NY Hardcore pretty damn well. But to the guy who says you can't do much more than be consistent with your sound.. I dunno. Look at Kid Dynamite, Crime in Stereo, Paint it Black, Minutemen, Fugazi, Propagandhi.. There's plenty of new directions to take hardcore.

Like alot, same as DTT really, but I like the later stuff more anyway. I think in relation to taking hardcore in new directions, taking risks etc. you could call SOIA stalwarts. Or dinosaurs, whatever.
