Sugar Red Drive: Debut Album Listening Party On UG Profiles

Sugar Red Drive has released their self-titled debut via Sugarbear Records.

Hailing from Poughkeepsie, NY, Sugar Red Drive consists of Archit Tripathi (Vocals), Jim Knauss (Guitars), Davey Alexander (Bass), and P.J. Gasperini (Drums). Influenced by bands like Alice In Chains, Stone Temple Pilots, and Led Zeppelin, Sugar Red Drive bring a strong alternative sound, with infectious rock and earnest, sincere songcraft, including album single, "One More Time," which features churning riffage and snarling lead vocals.

Billboard Magazine claims, "the track has a muscular foundation and a just-right fit of aggression and hooks that set the band up for an impressive start."

Head over to the band's UG Profile Page to hear the album in its entirety and to see when they will be in a city near you. Make sure to pick up your copy of their self-titled album in stores everywhere.

In the summer of 2008, Sugar Red Drive entered Applehead Studios (Coheed & Cambria, The Static Age) in Woodstock, New York with longtime songwriter and producer Pat Gasperini (drummer PJ's father). And while the members suffered some initial studio jitters, they soon conquered their fears and had the time of their lives. From the moment they finished recording Sugar Red Drive has been on a skyward arc. They've received overwhelmingly positive receptions opening for Seether, Theory Of A Deadman, Live And Fastball, and when they haven't been playing out, they've been dedicatedly rehearsing to hone their craft.

For Sugar Red Drive, playing music isn't a pastime or a party outlet; it's a full-on lifestyle, a passion to be pursued with every ounce of strength and energy. In other words, these guys are on a mission and nothing's gonna stop them.

"We want to make people go to our shows and buy our records. It's never gonna stop," states P.J. "We want to be here for the next 25 to 30 years like Aerosmith. We're here for the long haul."

why is this front page? seems more like an ad than an article... I wonder if UG gets paid for promoting some of these guys like this?

These guys got in a pretty big accident about a week or so ago. There van hit a guard rail and flipped over. They all got bruised up but, the bassist was in more serious condition than the others. Not sure when they'll be playing next due to the accident. Best of luck to a full recovery guys.

I agree. Along with Pearl Jam, they have STP-style hints throughout their music as well. Not bad, in my opinion.

I'm in a non-listenable environment. Can someone compare them to another band?

I heard Pearl Jam? Maybe STP?
