Thom Yorke, singer and songwriter of Radiohead, released a remix "Harrowdown Hill" as a free download on the band’s website. The song originally appeared on Yorke’s 2006 solo album, The Eraser.
The remix comes in celebration of Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood’s birthday as well as Barack Obama’s victory in the U.S. General Election. It is available for download here.
Yorke writes on the band’s website, " In celebration of November 5, Jonny's birthday amid bonfire and fireworks in the UK and the dawn of a new era in politics in the USA, I humbly donate a remix of 'Harrowdown Hill' that was finished ages ago during the band webcasts, a small reminder of the dark days of Bush's..."
Radiohead just wrapped up a world tour and are in talks to play shows in South America in 2009.

Agreed. However I prefer Cedric Bixler Zavala, Anthony Green, and Steven Patrick Morrissey over him. But Thom Yorke is definately in 4th.
thirdeye_15 is obviously a very smart man.

: I can't say I like Radiohead or Thom Yorke, but does it really need to be a cause for band bashing, in reference to AC/DC, they have been waaaaay more succesful than radiohead, and they haven't changed sound, some people like it, some don't. Deal with it.POSTED: 11/07/2008 - 01:08 pm / quote |

if tom yorke was bad at golf would you lose respect for his band radiohead? no, what he does away from his band is his own business, radiohead is just a band whos job is to make good music which they excel at POSTED: 11/07/2008 - 01:42 pm / quote |

Radiohead is a brilliant band. For dragen_slair, a band's greatness is not measured by success. Wealth? Maybe. But sales figures do not reflect compositional value.
Yorke would probably hate this, but, Long Live Radiohead; I'd be a smaller person without them.POSTED: 11/07/2008 - 03:14 pm / quote |

: I love radiohead, I also love opeth. But they are completely different bands in every way. Even if they were in the same genre, I still don't see why people insist on pitting everything they come across against each other. You can never prove that one band is "better" than another, just whether you like them more or not. Music is art and it's about time everyone treated it like it.POSTED: 11/08/2008 - 12:56 am / quote |

Thom and Trent Reznor, who I'm guessing you're a fan of, are did the same thing. Hail to the Thief and Year Zero were both meant to inform the public. To be honest, HttT is my favorite Radiohead album.POSTED: 11/08/2008 - 02:03 am / quote |

But I've come to realize that if they made more guitar driven songs, then it wouldn't really be "them." They've conquered that area of music, and they're moving on.
On the topic of Thom though, I'm diggin' the remix. I hope he makes another solo cd.POSTED: 11/08/2008 - 04:40 am / quote |

Every successfull band in the world? O_O
Also, just in reply to the person that said he didn't understand why Thom gives a **** about foreign politics - are you simple? It's America, one of the most dominant countries in the world, to ignore what they do is unbelievably ignorant.POSTED: 11/08/2008 - 09:03 am / quote |

But a British citizen should be complaining about American Politics? Whats his gripe? His country's involvement in Iraq? Last time I checked Britain had their own government who made those kinds of decisions. POSTED: 11/09/2008 - 02:04 am / quote |
