Atoms For Peace have debuted the studio version of their song, "Judge Jury and Executioner".
The track – which was first played live in 2009 in Los Angeles - was aired on Zane Lowe's BBC Radio 1 show earlier (January 7). Click below to hear the song.
Atoms For Peace are Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke's side project with Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers, super-producer Nigel Godrich and percussionist Mauro Refosco. They release their debut album "Amok" on February 25 via XL.
Thom Yorke and Nigel Godrich spoke to Zane Lowe before playing "Judge Jury and Executioner". They discussed the possibility of UK concerts, during which they confirmed that they would be playing shows in the UK and Europe, but that they didn't know when. "It's still being figured out," said Nigel. "It's on the table."
When asked if they'd be playing this summer's Glastonbury Festival, Yorke said that they wouldn't. "We won't have got our shit together by then," he explained, NME notes.
Lowe then asked if fans would ever be hear the songs Radiohead recorded at Jack White's studio in Nashville last year. Yorke said yes, but that: "It's in the mountain of stuff that I've got to finish... first I've got to get the kids from school".
loving this track, especially that hook. i didn't know a whole lot about this project but i'm stoked about it now. 2013 is already looking good enough to be the new 2012.
I love Radiohead but I don't know why Yorke bothers to do side projects when they all sound exactly like Radiohead.
I hear nothing in this song that suggests that Flea was even involved and if I hadn't have been told otherwise I would have just thought it was a new Radiohead track.
I think it's more that Radiohead started taking after Thom's solo project, rather than the other way around. In Rainbows and The Eraser were quite different.
Agreed, Eraser sounds more like King of Limps than anything Radiohead did prior to it. And this track sounds like something of The Eraser :p. Luckily i loved The Eraser and King of Limps, so probably going to be good. But wouldn´t mind if Flea was more visible.
