U2 Debut Christmas Cover And Video

His band may be hard at work on their new album but nothing is going to stop Bono of U2 from giving his fans an early Christmas present.

The band recently debuted a new video through iLike of their cover of "I Believe In Father Christmas", which was originally sung by Greg Lake. The video can be viewed here. The song was released as the band’s first contribution to Bono’s very own download service/charity fund, (RED)WIRE. For $5 a month, the service offers its members exclusive songs every week along with music videos and other goodies. All proceeds go to helping people who are living with HIV in Africa.

Along with U2, the service will feature contributions from Coldplay, R.E.M., Death Cab For Cutie, and more.

This song will hopefully be able to hold over die-hard U2 fans while the band finishes up their next album, the follow-up to 2004’s "How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb", for a first quarter 2009 release.

Meh...Not a great song. They did it well, but it just wasn't a good song to begin with. THe guitar part was cool, though.

i will die one day no doubt but u2 will always suck, and do you know why? they will suck becouse so called guitarst edge (i dont know why did he let people call him like this. with this name he looks even bigger fag.... than he realy is) is realy, realy laim. and bono do i realy need to talk how bad singer he is. and put that all on the side and you will realize how big sh..t are their songs. they are very untalented musicians and their music ideas suck.

U2 is one of the best bands ever! If you don't think so then you can go home and listen to the sht that you call music and cry about what a bastard Bono is. If you don't like them then why are you even bothering about the article? There's a reason that they have been going strong for almost 30 years and that's because they have a huge fan base.
