Velvet Revolver Album Online Preview

MTV.com is currently offering a free audio preview of the entire Velvet Revolver album, "Contraband", due on June 8 through RCA Records. All of the album's 13 tracks are available at this location.

Revolver's all-star lineup features Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash, bassist Duff McKagan and drummer Matt Sorum, former Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland and ex-Wasted Youth guitarist Dave Kushner. MTV.com warnes you, when you preview Contraband, prepare to be jolted. "We can't play nice or play radio... To me, this is the first dangerous band that's come around in a while - truly dangerous," explains McKagan. Music nuts have waited months to hear this album - now you can breath easy. In other news, Billboard is reporting that Velvet Revolver's "Contraband" will be one of three albums BMG (RCA's parent company) will issue this summer with copy protection. BMG's copy management allows consumers to make three copies of a CD. They can also share tracks by e-mailing links through SunnComm's TuneShare PromoPlay feature. The e-mail recipients can listen to tracks for 10 days before they are timed out.

This cd will rock. Stone Temple Pilots and GNR both rocked.Its awsome to see Slash,Duff, and Matt back into mainstreem music.Lately when band members from diff. major bands unite they kick ass(audioslave).So theres alwasys a chance too see your band again

After hearing the album I can say that the album is worth your money.
the only thing I didn't liked was matt. he just try to hard on the drums on some songs and I think it's bad. we all know that he is a great drummer but he dont need to try too ***in hard. but he did an awsome work with the songs that keep the same rythem.

Its a good thing these guys are making music, its too bad we cant listen to the record without knowing exactly whos playing. Its a solid debut, not earthshaking by any means, but when you think of the contributions of Guns N Roses and Stone temple Pilots to rock n roll in the last 20 years, it creates a tough standard to live up to. Theyve done admirably, and its a good record to hear, but its like the first four songs have some of the better vocal work, and lack (for lack of a better term) musically, and the second four are vice versa. Seems the band hits their stride on Fall to Pieces, and appropriately enough, picks up the pieces from there, ending the record on a great set of 5 tracks. Hope they use it as a springboard to tear off another batch of tunes and perhaps, unlike most bands nowadays, give us another record within a year, like it went back in the day. Solid first album tho, glad to hear Scotts voice and that sweet-as-*** rhythm section again, what with all the suckholing ***ing pretenders out there lately. Scumrock will rock again.

does anyone else think that Velvet Revolver is like the metal Darkness. Scott reminds me of Justin Hawkins (the lead singer for the darkness). I love both bands. sry if you dont like the darkness but they both rock.

Um....I KNOW that Velvet Revolver is better than the Darkness, and the Darkness doesn't remind me of Velvet Revolver, in any sense. Sorry, I just don't like the Darkness, but I sure am glad they aren't another New Found Glory....anyways VELVET REVOLVER IS AWESOME.

Chris29 VR is nothing like the ***in Darkness. The Darkness are a goofty 80s band with a bassist with a mullet and lead singer in spandex. VR arent trying to be anything but a band thats around now. Its awesome to actually hear an ablum where everything isnt glossed over in the studio like everyother "heavy" band today. Slash is an amazing guitarists who plays heavy blues rock..not metal or nu metal or that other shit. Oyea that song sharing shit on the cd is bullshit..what does everyone else think?

i wonder why i heard about the names of the members of this band before i even heard about the band? they are selling their names. if only they could have released the song without their names, then we'd know what you all really think. its good rock but their not expanding the boarders at all these guys are great musicians but they are playing marketed rock. and he is only like the darkness in that he acts gay in vidoes, use your ears for music not your eyes. good album but unorigional.
