Yellowcard: 'Light Up The Sky' Online

Yellowcard have posed a new track from their upcoming full length. The record is titled Paper Walls and is due out July 17, 2007. It is the follow-up to Lights and Sounds which was released in 2006.

The band had been disappointed with the response to their previous record, saying:

"We have all these theories as to what happened, but basically it comes down to the fact that we don't have the momentum that we had at the height of Ocean Avenue. I think some people in the band felt the need to rebel from where we were and the kind of acts we were grouped with. A lot of people in our band thought we had a lot more to offer. And that's how we've ended up where we are.

"I think that the band went on ... maybe not a tangent, but we had a goal in mind, and at the end of the recording process, we were so proud of how artistic we were, And I think we showed too much. I think maybe we were a little too jaded and a little too dark, and I think that the lack of hope and faith that we put on this record made us a little less sparkly and light to people."

hmmm it sounds ok, but i prefer the other new song they have on their myspace 'fighting'
lights and sounds was alright, but ocean avenue is still their best album

Not enough from Sean in that song. Violin is too quiet, as are his vocals. They shouldnt drown out such a talented member. The new stuff just isnt as fun as the older stuff

Listen to the two new songs on their myspace, then listen to Ocean Avenue, Believe, or Only One. Simple, melodic songs. Losing Ben Harper was one of the worst things that could have happened to that band, and it did

MAn there new song is awsome i like light up the sky more den fighting, it sounds like there goin to there normal roots agian, i reakon we can expect a betta perfomance in dis album

XD they need to do something about their singer , though really they are still good but Lights and Sounds was a nice show of "Growing Up" musically.
