3 Mile Scream have announced dates for their upcoming tour of Eastern Canada with Dear Black Diary. The band is currently on tour in support of their Corporate Punishment debut A Prelude To Our Demise.
The band’s debut album has been receiving critical acclaim since its November release. The Montreal Mirror said, "The ghosts of At the Gates, Meshuggah, the Haunted and Slayer reach out through their sound." While Decibel Magazine reported, "This quintet is akin to a more energetic God Forbid, with staccato riffs and languid melodies giving way to machine-gun breakdowns at almost every turn."
"We're thrilled about the response this record has been getting, as it's been nothing short of amazing and hope that we can continue that with this upcoming tour of Eastern Canada," says 3 Mile Scream bassist Mike Marino. "We just recently shot a video for 'Our Blackened Sun' with director Chad Archibald (Arise and Ruin), which is currently in the final editing stages now. The shoot made us realize just how much work goes into the creating a video. It tested our limits physically having to go full tilt, take after take to get it all on film. It was a g reat experience, the video looks sick and we look forward sharing it with everyone."
Dear Black Diary is currently supporting their Year of the Sun Records self-titled debut. Produced by Scott Sherar, the album is a display of technical brutality and subtle emotion. The album was called "extremely impressive and worth checking out" by Exclaim! Magazine. The video for the band’s debut single "Life is the Number One Cause of Death" can be viewed at MySpace.
"Everyone in the Dear Black camp are super excited to get out to the East Coast and are looking forward to terrorizing the stage each night with 3 Mile Scream,” says Dear Black Diary’s Steve Ferraro. "We will also be filming this tour for our upcoming DVD that should accompany our next release so come on out and show us what you got in the pit!"
