Alexisonfire have just announced the first leg of an extensive U.S. tour supporting Saosin which kicks off in Seattle on September 28th, with more dates to be announced shortly. Tickets for the first leg are on sale beginning August 18th.
The St. Catharines, Ontario band has taken the world by storm since the release of their third album, and first for Vagrant, Crisis (8/06). Not only did Crisis debut at #1 on the Canadian charts and go platinum one week after its release in Canada, but it also lead the Juno-award winning band to be nominated for three 2007 JUNO awards, and to win the MMVA (MuchMusic Video Awards) for Best Cinematography. Kerrang! named Crisis #13 out of the 50 best albums of 2006, while eight of the magazine’s editors roped the album into their Top 10 best of 2006, and Big Cheese named Alexisonfire “Band Of The Year” in 2006.
MySpace.com recently hosted the world premier of the band’s third video for the song “Rough Hands,” which can be seen here. The band is currently holding a contest where fans can submit their own homemade videos for “Rough Hands” towin a swanky 30 GB iPod and Alexisonfire goodies. For rules and prizes, visit the band’s blog here.
Constantly touring the US (this is the AOF’s 5th round across the US in less than a year) has really paid off for Alexisonfire, as the band has been scooping up tons of fans with each mile. Fuse TV couldn’t help but fall victim to the Alexisonfire fever, and have spun all three of the band’s videos fromCrisis, and even invited the band to guest host “Steven’s Untitled Rock Show.”
The Canadian imports won’t be in the US for much longer, as they are scheduled to headline a two-week tour across the UK with Saosin supporting in November.
