For AMS Neve, the 121st AES Convention in San Francisco will be viewed as a landmark event in the company's history. Not only did AMS Neve show a range of its critically acclaimed consoles and signal processing products, and hold a grand 45th anniversary party, the company also announced strategic developments that will position AMS Neve for ongoing growth in the coming years.
On Friday, October 6th,
AMS Neve orchestrated a gala 45th anniversary party for over 200 people at San Francisco's legendary The Annex Recording Studios. The event, which was co-sponsored by West LA Music, Westlake Pro Audio Sales Group, Sienna Digital, Muse Research, The Village Recording Studios (a long-time Neve recording house) and The Annex, featured fantastic music from a Beatles cover band (The White Album Ensemble), a DJ, the beautiful Westlake Girls, delightful food and a one-of-a-kind anniversary cake in the likeness of the first Neve console!
During the course of the evening's festivities, everyone gathered in Studio A (featuring a Neve V3 60 input with Flying Fader Automation) and The Village's Jeff Greenberg proceeded to address the guests, introducing The Annex's Russell Bond. AMS Neve General Manager Arie van den Broek followed this with a short speech thanking everyone for their support of AMS Neve for the past 45 years, then with the help of the Westlake Girls, proceeded to blow out the candles and cut the cake. Everyone sang The Beatles' "Birthday" ('You Say It's Your Birthday') finishing with a huge round of applause. The evening offered enjoyment for all.
The following night, AMS Neve received another wonderful anniversary gift in the form of two wins for Technical Excellence and Creativity at the TEC Awards, honoring the 88D digital console in the category of Large Format Console Technology and the 1073 DPD mic preamplifier in the area of Mic Preamplifier Technology. Founded in 1985, the TEC Awards recognize outstanding professional audio achievement. Presented annually, the awards ceremony highlights each Fall convention of the Audio Engineering Society.
AMS Neve also took the opportunity at AES to announce the expansion of its sales channel with the addition of Don Griffin's West LA Music and the Westlake Pro Audio Sales Group as authorized dealers. This strategic move will provide customers with even greater access to AMS Neve professional audio products.
Commenting on this year's AES events, Arie van den Broek stated, "This was a great AES show for AMS Neve. Celebrating our 45th anniversary, expanding our distribution with two renowned dealers and being acknowledged with two TEC awards are all indicators that AMS Neve has been on the move. This is just the beginning of things to come for AMS Neve -- stay tuned!"
