After a glorious 10 years together the UK's finest punk, rock, ska band Capdown have decided to call it a day.
"We are sad to announce that the band will not be continuing to work together as Capdown after the October 2007 tour. After completing our last, and best album in 2007, we have all decided that we want to explore other experiences in life, outside the band unit."
Before they go they will be releasing 'No Matter What', the third single from their current album '
Wind-Up Toys' which was out earlier this year on Fierce Panda Records. The single will be available on limited edition 7" and for download from the 5th November.
Since their formation in 1997 they have released a slurry of singles/EPs and 4 albums and have played internationally with everyone from Madball to Less Than Jake, Hundred Reasons to Bad Religion. They have performed at Glastonbury, Deconstruction (UK & Europe) festivals and five times at the Reading/Leeds Carling Weekend. It was these performances as well as their constant touring that has earned them a reputation as one of the most exciting and consistant live acts in the UK and pioneers of the new wave of DIY bands. Their music and work ethic has been cited as an influence on many current acts from Gallows to Get Cape, Wear Cape, Fly.
Radio One, long-term supporters of the band, have recorded sessions for both the Evening Session and The Lock-Up, a show the band regularly contribute to. The band have been lauded by everyone from Kerrang! and NME to The Times and The Guardian.
