EMI Records are proud to present the brand new single by London-based 5 piece Captain. ‘Broke’ is the first single proper to be taken from the debut album ‘This is Hazelville’, and will be released on 1st May 2006. Built around Rik and Clare’s distinctive, harmonious vocals and a hook-laden, driving melody, ‘Broke’ is an uplifting and epic introduction to one of this year’s most exciting debuts.
Following the critically acclaimed limited edition single ‘
Frontline’, which was championed by NME, Radio 1 and XFM amongst others, ‘
Broke’ has already been record of the week on Colin and Edith’s show on Radio 1 and is now on their C List as well as receiving strong support from Jo Whiley, Zane Lowe and Steve Lamacq.
Captain have also been playing some outstanding live shows up and down the country. Now, with an NME Shockwaves gig (supporting The Ordinary Boys), a superb set at SXSW, and a UK support tour with The Delays under their belt, Captain are ready and primed for a busy and exciting year ahead, which includes a UK tour throughout April and May:
