For more than three years, ongoing violence has devastated the remote western region of Sudan known as Darfur. Conflicts between tribal militias have left over 400,000 dead and 2.5 million displaced, living in temporary camps where conditions are harsh and food is scarce. Fighting has reduced villages to ashes, crops to barren fields. The humanitarian crisis is only getting worse: 2,500 people die each week, the camps are full far beyond their capacity, and UN peacekeepers have been prohibited from intervening.
In its most ambitious humanitarian campaign to date,
Myspace is enlisting the support of musicians and members like you to help people of Darfur - and to send a strong message to the world that the crisis can, and must, end now. Show your support and come out to one of our
Rock For Darfur concerts on October 21. A portion of your ticket will go directly to
Oxfam's Sudan Crisis Relief and Rehabilitation Fund.
