Coheed & Cambria: 9-Disc Box Release

Columbia Records is excited to announce that on March 17, 2009, Coheed And Cambria will release Neverender, The Children Of The Fence Boxset, a release that is possibly as ambitious as the event itself.

Neverender marked the triumphant culmination of the band's four-album album cycle. The historic four-night event featured the band performing each of their four albums in their entirety on four consecutive nights, October 22-25 2008 at New York’s Terminal 5 and was the first time that Coheed had performed the saga that connects the albums in order. The band performed in front of nearly 11,000 of their most passionate fans, who flew in from all over the world, organized for months in advance to carpool and share hotel rooms, lined up all day in the rain to get the best spots on the floor. Selling out in three hours, Neverender’s New York dates prompted a tide of demand that spawned three other sold-out Neverender stands, in LA, Chicago, and London.

The box set documents the New York stand (as well as clips from all 3 other cities) in one massive package that will include four live DVDs, four live audio CDs, one documentary DVD, a 10x10 hardcover 48-page photo book and a 7-1/2” custom metal dragonfly. A condensed two-disc DVD will also be made available. Pre-sales for the box began on Friday, Dec 12. Fans who pre-order it will get their names included on a "Children Of The Fence" page inside the book. The first 3,000 copies will be signed by the band.

Incredibly expensive, I might get the condensed version. Neverender itself has already cost me around £200, so I can't really afford to drop any more on the boxset.

Haha. I guess Coheed isn't really one of those bands that does things conventionally. This is an amazing idea though, and what's more amazing is that they can actually pull it off. I hope the shows were good

Pricey? You bet. But idc. This is amazing, but i bet all the autographed ones have already been pre-ordered. Neverender would have been amazing to go to, but this should be nearly as amazing. Finally get to see live versions of the Willing Well songs, as well as IRO-Bot maybe, and hopefully a full band version of The Light and the Glass.

I saw the third album night in London, and I must say it was an experience I won't soon forget. My mate had a spare ticket so I went last minute, but my god it was so amazing they did there trooper cover for part of there encore

Damn is so much. Its $110 and of course they release it after everyone got me Christmas presents. Oh well, I got a poster and I don't need super booklets and as much as that Dragonfly kicks ass, I can live without it. I'll pick up the compressed version.

Wow. I rerally feel bad for kids, that THIS is the band they idolize, and know every lyric to? Music is in a sad state when these guys are the big "Geek rock" band.

Actually, these guys are one of the few exceptions to the sad state of modern music. I respect your opinion, but really, you can't say the sad state is BECAUSE of Coheed; that state already existed.

On topic, I will absolutely be buying this ASAP. This is a great stepping stone to carry over to the next album. Can't wait.

FYI: as long as it mentions the first 3,000 on the site tehre is still signed copies left.

Aye, the good folks at Cobalt were keeping pretty good tabs on the number of orders. I think just as long as you ordered it before last night you'll get a signed copy. I haven't checked recently to see if it's reached 3000 yet, but last time I *did* look it up, which was about mid-day yesterday, it was at 2600.
