The Derek Trucks Band announced the opportunity for musicians to collaborate on the track, "Get What You Deserve", off of their hit album, "Already Free" (Sony Music/Victor). The album was the highest debut ever for The Derek Trucks Band with a top 20 debut on the Billboard album charts. As one of the most talented and inspiring guitarists in the world today, Derek Trucks, along with his band, are utilizing Indaba Music to engage with their fans in a creative and engaged way.
"

Rolling Stone reported that "Derek Trucks could very well be the best guitarist of his generation," and now Indaba is offering its community of more than 125,000 professional, amateur, and student musicians the opportunity to work with one of the songs off of "Already Free." The winners of this contest will receive prizes from high-quality music companies including Epiphone, leading music technology and instrument retailer Sweetwater, and Shure, a top recording product manufacturer.
Submissions for the contest will be accepted until March 10, 2009 on the Indaba Music contest page. The winners will be selected by Derek Trucks as well as Doyle Bramhall II (Producer) and Steve Berkowitz (Sony A&R), with the final announcement being made on March 24, 2009. This opportunity to collaborate with one of the leading guitarists of our time follows past campaigns on Indaba Music with renowned artists, including Yo-Yo Ma, Mariah Carey, and The Roots.
