In support of From Autumn To Ashes forth-coming album Holding A Wolf By The Ears, the band has announced it will co-headline a full US tour with Haste The Day. This 2 month hardcore outing will kick off in Buffalo, NY on March 6th and will tear-ass across the US, leading to the April 10th release of Holding A Wolf By The Ears and beyond. Tour dates below - more dates to be announced soon.
Fans can get a jump on hearing the new music by picking up These Speakers Dont Always Tell The Truth a limited edition exclusive EP available March 13th only at Hot Topic stores nationwide for just $1.99. The disc features two tracks (Deth Kult Social Club and Pioneers) from the forthcoming album along with a previously unreleased b-side (Y2K). The supply is very limited, so once theyre gone
theyre gone.
For a band that has been in existence for more than half a decade, played 4 continents, and has at least as many fans as it does road miles under its belt, this tour ushers in a new era for FATA; the tour features the debut of singer Francis Mark stepping from behind the drum kit and pulling double-vocal duty, the unveiling of new songs from Holding A Wolf By The Ears and the introduction of an as-yet-unnamed new touring drummer.
Core members Mark, guitarist Brian Deneeve and bassist Josh Newton began writing and recording Holding A Wolf By The Ears in September, with Mark spending weeks carefully penning the lyrics for all the songs (as he did for 2005s Abandon Your Friends). After fronting FATA for 6 years, vocalist Ben Perri announced he was leaving the band just before he was scheduled to track the vocals for
Wolf. The band forged on and continued to record its fourth full-length, and third for Vagrant, with producer Brian McTernan (Thrice, Cave-in, Senses Fail) at his Salad Days studio in Baltimore. Along with a new drummer, the touring band will also include guitarist Rob Lauritsen.
Such a turn of events would have had most bands calling it quits, but FATA have risen from the ashes to become the band they want to be. In a recent interview with MTV.com, Mark comments "Part of me is hoping that some people can look at this as a new band and not draw too many comparisons between this record and the past three, because I feel like it's kind of a new beginning.
As Mark continues in the MTV.com feature, To me, [Holding A Wolf By The Ears is] heavier than anything we've ever done. Either way, I personally believe in this record more than anything we've ever done and for that reason alone, it's already our most successful record."
