I'm glad you all noticed that they're not the first... and maybe NIN wasn't either but they're still both amongst the frontrunners. I just hope this doesn't become a bandwagon sensation. It's bad enough that Guitar Hero is just raising a new generation of cover bands instead of musicians writing and performing their own music.

Nice idea, and anything LoG like is a win for me....but having said that, I doubt that any amateur will be able to outdo the Sacrament mix itself... I mean, as that was done by professionals working on it full time and all.

It would be a different story with some of the older LoG stuff, mind. It seemed to take them a few albums to learn how to mix a song...

Am I the only one that thinks this isn't that great of an idea? Sure it may seem cool to make your own versions of their songs and such but there is a better idea to do then that, and that is to create your own music!!! Starting from scratch will be more rewarding in the end.

I think you are right about the fact that it's great to create your own music. But in releasing this an amazing opportunity is given to musicians. Learning, Transcribing and Analyzing music will become a lot easier with individual tracks. This is an amazing thing for a great band to do. Thanks to NIN and LOG this might become a common thing in the music industry. Awesome!

It's a cool idea, but rather quick after NIN did this with Year Zero, and atleast they were giving it out for free.

I'm not saying it's bad that they did it. I think it's kick-ass, in fact. I just was pointing out how everyone seems to think this is such a revolutionary and new idea. As if Lamb of God came up with the idea.

Like someone else said, they arn't the first to do this, just the first to charge for it.

Well, yeah NIN did it first long ago, so it isn't innovative. And Radiohead had to gamble big time by doing their whole "It's Up to You" pay system. Both of which being free. So bascially on the scale of innovativeness, I'd set this equal with Beck's new album coming with a sticker sheet... Not all that revolutionary, but neat, I guess.

Shit you can even mix and match riffs of songs and make them the same speed. That would be some intense shit. The limits are endless!
