Ryan Neighbors (keyboards, vocals), and newest member drummer
Garrett Lunceford - plan to debut new material from their upcoming release, as yet untitled but expected out this summer on their own Approaching AIRballoons label (Equal Vision).
P.TM has been holed up since early January at Boston's Camp Street Studios with the formidable production team consisting of
Paul Q. Kolderie (Pixies, Radiohead, Throwing Muses) who mixed "
Censored Colors,"
Adam Taylor (The Lemonheads, The Dresdon Dolls), and
Anthony Saffery (member of Cornershop). You can see the band's one-of-a-kind in (and daily journey to) the studio tour

Alternative Press recently named Gourley as the "Best Vocalist of 2008," and "Censored Colors," P.TM's 2008 release, as one of last year's "10 Essential Albums." The AltPress editors cited Gourley's "instantly-recognizable" voice, his "layers of delicate vocals that lend P.TM songs their unique, neuvo-vintage sound." The decision to include "Censored Colors" as an "essential" album had the editors pointing to the band having "caged an ambient aural menagerie," making the album and the band "'the land of the midnight sun's most illuminated export." The magazine's initial review of the CD hailed it "impossibly cohesive and gloriously disparate with songs that equally evoke vintage Led Zeppelin and Marvin Gaye."
Under the mainstream radar, Portugal. The Man has garnered an incredible buzz with the release of two earlier full-length CDs, 2006's Waiter: "You Vultures!" and 2007's Church Mouth (the latter of which debuted on the Billboard Top Alternative New Artists chart at lucky #13), and three EPs, The Pines, the Devil (2006), Devil Say I, I Say Air (digital EP, 2006), and It's Complicated Being A Wizard (2007). They have amassed kudos from an array of media outlets like Filter ("Portugal The Man hasn't merely evolved from the avant-garde, neo-soul that shaped their earliest works, they've transcended it") and Alternative Press ("...it's the songs that truly set this band apart").
