: Thom Yorke is an overrated tool. I saw that he hates people that want him to play creep at their shows, and he wants to be recognized for his other songs as well. I think the solution is to write better songs, idiotPOSTED: 03/05/2009 - 04:37 pm / quote |

: Aye everyone is crying about supporting EMI fair enough but this sounds like a mint idea, it's not like Radiohead will be against people buying it, just against the record company doing it in the first place.POSTED: 03/05/2009 - 04:39 pm / quote |

Actually, the reason that he doesn't like playing that song is simply because it was never meant to be an anthem and people misunderstood the meaning behind it. If I wrote a song and it became popular based on the fact that everyone thought it meant something that it didn't that would piss me off and make me not want to play it too.

: Erm... Sure, it's a clever commercial trick on the side of EMI, but it's also a really cool release, right? What's the problem if both parties gain from this? If you were still lacking any album by Radiohead (except IR), would you also never buy it but rather download it just for the sake of not supporting a major record label? This kind of logic is idiotic. What's the use of opposing a major record label in the first place? EMI are going to be around for a long long time, anyway, getting out a big load of shitty music customer rip offs, but you may skip those. In the mean time, let's just agree on how this is a cool release. If I felt The Bends and Pablo Honey were better albums, I might go and get all three re-issues. For now, I'll just be considering getting the OK Computer re-release in some discount store.
Oh yeah, and as a final thought: have you ever properly compared original CD quality (which is a whole step down from LP or DVD-A already) to MP3s? And where's the total experiences of music and artwork that comes with buying an album, if you only download the MP3s? Go and get educated by watching Steven Wilson's Insurgentes documentary!POSTED: 05/24/2009 - 08:43 am / quote |
