Starsailor return to North American shores when they launch their 19 city tour beginning in Montreal at the Osheaga Festival on September 3rd. It’s the band’s first U.S./Canadian tour in over two and a half years.
“We can't wait to get back to America and see the reactions of the audiences to our new songs,” commented bassist James Stelfox. “That’s what it’s always been about for us; sparking that connection in concert with our music.”
Starsailor will perform their first single “
In The Crossfire” on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno on August 29th.
With their third and strongest album to date, On The Outside (August 22nd release - Artists’ Addiction Records), the band has reached a creative peak with The Daily Telegraph calling it: “Their most compelling album yet,” and Mojo Magazine proclaiming that the band is “Still producing the goods.” The album was recorded in Los Angeles with producer Rob Schnapf (Beck, The Vines, Elliott Smith)
Taking their name from the title of a Tim Buckley LP, Starsailor have enjoyed an immense amount of success since the release of their debut album Love Is Here in 2002. Both their debut album and its follow up - Silence Is Easy (which featured two tracks produced by the legendary Phil Spector) were both platinum sellers in the UK. The group has developed a die hard following all around the world due to their lengthy touring schedule, solid musicianship and amazing songs.
Originally released in the UK as an 11-track album, the U.S. release of On The Outside will include a 12th bonus track titled “Empty Streets.”
Fans can get a taste of what’s to come with the digital EP: In The Crossfire available now. The three song EP features three tracks from the album: “In The Crossfire,” “Counterfeit Life,” and “Jeremiah.”
Starsailor have several major performances on tap this summer before their North American tour including a spot on the V Festival in August and this past weekend they shared the stage with Roger Waters and The Who for “Hyde Park Calling.”
