Frightened Rabbit's jangly indie rock opus, The Midnight Organ Fight, has been pushed to an April 29 release date due to a manufacturing delay. The highly anticipated sophomore album will still be available digitally April 15 as originally scheduled. Blog extraordinaire Stereogum will exclusively premiere the unreleased b-side "Soon Go" in their weekly e-mail newsletter, "The Gum Drop," Wednesday, April 16 as well on the site the following day. Those interested in signing up for the newsletter can do so at here.
The Glaswegian foursome, newly joined by keyboardist/guitarist Andy Monaghan, are now back in the confines of their Scottish homeland following a handful of East Coast and SXSW shows. Their cathartic, intense performances at the annual music conference were highlighted out of thousands by the DENVER POST who exclaimed: "
Frightened Rabbit gives music fans reason to be excited." The
Houston Chronicle concurred, declaring: "
This is a great new band from Glasgow," adding, "
The songs go from light and dark, quiet and loud and full of energy."
The band will return to U.S. soil in May for a tour with the French Kicks, with more dates in May and June to be announced soon. In the meantime, they will keep busy playing throughout the U.K. with stops in London, Leeds, Newcastle and of course, Glasgow.
