The Bled, Tucson’s resident hard rockers, have recently announced three months worth of 2008 tour dates. The band kicks off a five-week tour with Saosin and Armor For Sleep in their hometown on January 21st and immediately jumps into the Take Action! Tour on February 14th.
The Bled’s third full-length, Silent Treatment (09/25), recorded earlier this year with producer Brian McTernan (Thrice, Senses Fail), is an explosive document of The Bled’s trademark ability to join unexpected melodies and precision playing with the heaviest of rhythms, and left Alternative Press to comment “… the band stepped up their technical prowess with time changes, hyperactive alternate pickings and dynamics so striking a certain canyon in the band’s homestate comparatively pales.”
After recently touring the UK, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Japan on the International Taste Of Chaos, and Canada with Alexisonfire,
The Bled is thrilled to be home, touring the US in support of
Silent Treatment.
“After touring the world in support of Silent Treatment it’s about damned time we hit our homeland soil and turf for some touring. We will be spreading the sounds of Silent Treatment and sharing the stage with our longtime friends in Saosin. Children, be ready to tear up the turf… cause it’s a turfwar on a global scale,” notes drummer Mike Pedicone.
Immediately following a four week run with Saosin, The Bled will be the first Vagrant artist to join the Take Action! Tour, which is now in its seventh year. This year’s Take Action! Tour will benefit Do Something, a non-profit organization that distributes weekly $500 grants to young peoples with an idea about how to make a difference in their community. Take Action will donate 10% of all ticket sales and 5% of the suggested retail price for each Take Action! Volume 7 compilation, on which The Bled will appear, sold to Do Something.
Drummer Mike Pedicone is excited to be part of the Take Action! Tour, stating “It has been a long time coming that we tour with our close compadres in Every Time I Die. It’s also a wonderful opportunity to be a part of a tour with a seriously positive message. There are a lot of tours out there with bands who are spitting meaningless junk in your ear. It’s comforting to know we'll be out with good peeps and on a tour that supports a good cause.”
