The Seattle trio's upcoming release, These Are The Good Times People--their first album in 3 years and fifth overall--is due out March 11 on Fugitive Recordings (an alignment between the band and EMI) and features the first single "Mixed Up S.O.B."
A celebratory romp "Mixed Up S.O.B." embraces the spirit of the band's 4.5 million-selling eponymous debut album, the song was originally penned in 1989 and first existed as "a slow, 12-string kind of thing," says Chris Ballew, the band's founding vocalist, basitar player and principal songwriter. "It wasn't until I decided to Cars-ify it that it came to life." The single will arrive at radio will arrive at radio in late February. The group teamed up with director "Weird Al" for the performance-based video creating a multi-layered, virtual world through psychedelic picture flipbooks. Look for the video to debut soon.
