Good as APC are, this is all too premature..

APC is a truly awesome band. One of the few mainstream artists that are still original.

sithian476 :
Funny how some of you guys rag on other bands for remixing, but then when APC comes along and does the same exact concept, you fully accept it.

ILIKEMUSICALOT :
I agree with Sithian476. You know why these bands remix their shit? Because they know dumbasses like all of you will spend more money on them. Hence the quote, "The double-disc "aMOTION" is being described as "the ultimate A Perfect Circle fan piece,"" You see that? It's the perfect way to get money. Guys, you better listen up, its the ultimate APC fan piece so you better get ready to buy it. You guys are idiots. Linkin Park did this shit with that gay Reanimation thing, and now this. It's not the ultimate APC fan piece, it's the ultimate way to milk money out of you dumbasses. APC is just like Linkin Park and all that other remix shit. They are no different.

Yeah, I lose more respect for Maynard with each passing day. "Think for yourself, question authority" which according to Maynard translates to "Think for yourself, Vote for John Kerry." And now commercializing APC to no end. He used to be all about the music, now he's starting to slide downhill. They play a remix of blue on a local radio station (dont know if they do it elsewhere too) and it sucks. The single about war drums is just a remix of 'pet,'the video for The Outsider had nothing to do with the actual song, it was just a way to commercialize the movie he was in, they had some random kid come up with a video for 'blue' because they obviously have lost as much interest in Thirteenth step as I and most of their other fans have, and their cover of John Lennon's Imagine is BARELY decent. I never thought I would feel so negatively about a man I once admired so much, but oh well... all I know is he better compensate A LOT with the next Tool album scheduled to come out pretty soon.

*** you mandard is bad to the fVcking bone. In pensicola one time somebody tried to take a pic of him on stage and he turned around for the rest of the concert. He is only about the music everybody has to do someting to try and pull in new fans and remixes are not a bad way. Looking forward to the new Tool. Has anybody else heard that I think it was Deftone Feat Maynard. It is bad ass

I KNOW, I KNOW. I'M NOT BIG ON REMIXES EITHER, "BUT", IT WILL HAVE 2 "NEW" SONGS PLUS A DVD WITH SOME LIVE FOOTAGE ON IT, SO OF COURSE I'M GONNA GET IT. IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT, OH WELL. THEY'LL BE FINE. NO ONE'S FORCING YOU TO BUY IT. PLUS IT WILL HOLD YOU OVER TILL THE NEXT TOOL ALBUM COMES OUT.....SOON.

Red Demon Inu :
i like apc, but im not sure if ill get the new cd. i know why they did the remixes, is because they want to get a point across, but they should make their own material...it would be better. and i cant wait till the next tool cd, they're feakin great.

i'll listen to it first... i've never been keen on remixes. if anyone can pull it off well though, it's a perfect circle!

Nice. I've been wanting to see the music video for "Blue."
POSTED: 09/25/2004 - 03:12 am / quote |
MonaJamesManson :
Oh god... ha ha ha ha MetalheadBuddha is so amusing. You guys are all like going on about the music and asshole musicians and remixes and buddha says nice. I guess I missed the point in here somewhere... Though, only call people dumbasses if they only want the CD because it's by APC, but the people who actually are interested in the music BY APC, then they aren't dumbasses... You can't just throw everyone into the one category, it's being kinda stereotypical. But I, myself am looking forward to this and will invest in it...

I for one is a big A Perfect Circle band; I love there music, I think Imagine was pretty good; Maynerd is a very good singer; but if they lost there touch in music...it's not just him; it would be the whole band as well; I mean, yes i'm going to buy this...only cause im a fan...I don't give a shit if it's "The Ultimate Fan Piece"...ohh well...

Stratowagen90 :
I havent really been satisfied with the choices of APC so much lately either...what is Josh Freese out of A Perfect Circle? Surely APC can replace the drummer right quick, but i have a great feeling this band/side-project will die very quickly now, especially after this remix, they wont have anymore. I personally like Tool better so I think Freese should go back to The Vandals, Jeordie/Twiggy back to Marilyn (FAGG!), also Maynard and Howerdel back to Tool. Its better off that way too, it was all so much better when Van Leeuen and Paz were in the band. So APC needs to die and Tool's been rotting too long and needs to step back up to their rightful place..#1

I fell in love with Mer de Noms, Thirteenth Step is ***ing terrible. It never really takes you anywhere. It drops down, and sort of wallows around with itself. I do like the Outsider. That is the only song I can stand. I too am getting tired of Maynard. Further more, *** this election day bullshit. I hate it when bands use their name to sway people politically. They're basically releasing a CD of covers? Who the FÜCK CARES? Anyone can play a god damn single. And I'm really getting tired of listening to Maynard try to be Robert Plant. No Quarter get's about a generous C in my grade book. I also agree with stratowagon, APC was MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH better with Paz and Troy. Iha should get back down on his knees in front of Billy Corgan, and Twiggy should crawl back to Manson. Mer de Noms took 5 years to write. Howerdel wrote all of the music, maynard wrote the lyrics. THAT FORMULA WORKED PERFECTLY. FÜCK Mayard and his creative control freakness. If he wants to ruin a band, tell him to go start his own.
Tool still rocks tho.

I used to love APC... well, I still love APC... but judging from the new music, the the outsider video, the pet remix video, the new politic shit and the remixes on the underworld soundtrack... I just... don't think I would like to buy their new album

ok ive sick of some of these posts. first of all maynard has always been political. I myself think bush would be a better president but just b/c maynard promotes kerry doesnt mean he sucks or is selling out.THINK FOR YOURSELF, im not gonna suddenly like kerry b/c maynard likes him and im not gonna hate maynard for liking him either. And when do bands sway ppl politically, this is the only band ive seen that seems to give a shit about our government and who's in lead of it. And as for the outsider video, maynard wanted something else but the person makin the video couldnt do it the way maynard wanted so maynard just went with the bikini bandits. and howerdel back to tool? wtf are u talking about he was never in tool dipshit. APC needs to die? you are a jackass. both tool and apc need to keep going b/c their both genious bands.

Unfortunately, agreed. If MJK never had joined APC, I think he'd still be the one musician I hold in highest regards. I don't think that it's him as much as the rest of the band commercializing APC, because otherwise that would reflect upon Tool as well, and they are nowhere near selling out.

I don't really think that they're selling out quite yet; I (at least hope) think they just want to throw their opinion out. I am very disappointed that MJK would spend time on this album rather than more time on another Tool album. Soon enough, MJK will be done with music. But for a musician, I still think he's very well versed with politics and VERY well spoken as a person.

Ok right I agree nobody forcing you to buy this dvd I actually downloaded the remix cd its not bad I would not pay for it on its own but the package would make a nice gift for a fan of the band.Emotive is just a band playing songs they like if you dont like it dont buy it. 13th step was amazing I have it on vynl and it chills my skin listening to it, and all this political bullshit a) tool have always been political b) apc are not political maynard is. also can everyone stop trying to cuss each other down its stupid immature and not anything to do with the music.Anyone agree with me speak up. oh yeah Bush or Kerry are two sides of the same coin both as bad as each other power corrupts. oh yeah and the only band that should be getting back together is not the pumpkins but RATM.
