Aerosmith Album Delayed Until Fall

For more than a year, the boys in Aerosmith have been hard at work on their first new album of original material since 2001. Reportedly, the plan was for the new record to be released this spring. Now, that timeline has changed.

Bassist Tom Hamilton told 97.5 K-Rock in St. John’s, Newfoundland, that the album has been "pushed back" until September, according to Hennemusic.

That means the as-yet-untitled release will come on the heels, and not in advance, of the band’s summer Global Warming tour, which begins June 16 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and wraps up in August.

Aerosmith – Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Brad Whitford, Tom Hamilton and Joey Kramer – have been working on the sessions with producer Jack Douglas, who also helmed many of the band's '70s classics.

Thanks for the report to Gibson.com.
