AFI have announced the title for their eighth studio album. The record is titled "Crash Love" and is expected later this year via Interscope Records.
The band and producer Joe McGrath were recently joined at Los Angeles' Conway Studios by the winners of the recent Begin Transmission contest.
The band members personally went through thousands of fan-made video submissions and chose a handful of entrants to contribute backing vocals to the new album.
The band has also announced its first live performance of 2009, June 20th at Edgefest in Toronto, Canada.

The new record follows 2006's "Decemberunderground". In the intervening years, band members kept busy with a variety of projects. Bassist Hunter Burgan formed Hunter's Revenge and briefly rejoined The Force.
Jade and Davey released an electronic side project, Blaqk Audio. Jade also remixed the Cure while Davey developed his own fashion line.
