Against Me Begin Work On Next Album

Against Me! drummer Warren Oakes recently spoke to Billboard about their plans for the rest of the year. According to Warren:

"I know Tom [Gabel] has been writing this whole time. We'll probably take a little holiday break, then just get together and start collaborating and start fleshing those songs out and work on writing for most of the early part of next year. We'll probably do some shows some time in the spring, perhaps, to road test some of those new songs.

"We'll get in the studio when the time is right, when we have a batch of songs that are ready to go. The biggest pressure that's ever been put on this band has come internally, every step of the way. So we're just gonna take the time to get it right."

The prolific Gabel is also releasing a new solo EP, "Heart Burns", on October 28, 2008.

I like a lot of the tracks on their previous record. Some didn't taste too good, but it was still a good album, both for summer, listening and partying.

i agree, i mean old against me! of course was my style but im not holding my breath, just gotta move on i guess....im looking foward to this new album

Awesome! I went to see these guys less than two weeks ago. One of the better concerts I've been to. Can't wait to hear what else they come up with.

New Wave was so unbelievably disappointing; it couldn't nearly hold its own next to Re-inventing Axl Rose or even As the Eternal Cowboy. I can only hope that either of these albums will be better.

I don't think they'll backtrack in style so much, I just hope it will be a better version of new wave.

I love all Against Me!,but for me New Wave is one the best albums ive ever heard.Saw Against Me! last week,absolutely amazing live band.White People for Peace and We Laugh at Danger and Break All the Rules are both such good live songs.

Awesome news. New Wave was good, though not quite up to par with their old stuff. I just hope they bring back the acoustic guitars.

yeah i don't so much expect a backtrack in style, a progression would be great. i'm looking more for the songwriting quality that was on the older albums

Agree, but New Wave is a solid album and doesn't deserve the hate that it gets.
