Alter Bridge: Upcoming Album Update

Alter Bridge bassist Brian Marshall has updated on the second album courtesy alterbridgeband.net.

In his update, Marshall said “Hello everyone, glad to see you all are hanging in there. We have been in writing mode here in Orlando for some time, awaiting word on engineers/producers/labels to start recording. Looks like we are getting very close to the pre-production of our second record. We've all decided that these some 20 songs are probably the best we have ever created and if we don't get them tracked soon we will be pulling our hair out, locking the doors and beating eachother to a pulp. Just kidding of course. We have had our hands tied and anxiously await to share it with you all....until later...your 5 string friend, bringing the thunder... Brian Marshall”.

Although it will be a while before the album is released, fans can still hear two of the songs off of the new album, Come to Life and Buried Alive, on youtube.com. The band played those songs plus Ties That Bind at shows during their recent tour of Europe.

The album is still untitled and there is no release date set.

Kennedy is one of the best American rock vocalists we've had since Cornell's decline, and Tremonti is a hell of a guitarist.

I love this band's friendly demeanor. They seem a lot less pompous than they did with Stapp, as Creed.

No. Marshall plays bass on the AB albums. Tremonti only played bass on the last Creed album. Have a great day, everyone!

Very good band - disapointing when i saw them live. And since creed were christians, how come they say f*** between every word they say when they speak to the audience? and tremonti's solos are damn impressive but get a bit tedious hwne they're all kinda showboating solos... Just my opinion very few solos hit the spot for me

Tremonti said that the "Christian Band" thing was just an assumption, he never said it was a Christian Band. It's irrelevant because this is NOT Creed (Maybe Scott Stapp was the Christian one). Musically speaking Alter Bridge is SO much better than Creed and they're a band that ****in rocks way harder!

i havent heard the album.. must be good, and clearly is better then creed.. i didnt mind some old creed tunes but they eventually got to everybody.. theres only one eddt vedder scotty haha... i gotta give alter bridge more of a chance i think..

p.s it may seem farfetched, but go to google and type in "worst band in the world".. haha creed comes up everywhere

Awesome, I can't wait to hear this new CD. I was wondering if they were ever gonna release another album. It seems like it's been forever since there last one.

If Marshall is saying that it's "probably the best we have ever created" then I totally believe him. Regardless of whether the band was Creed or now Alter Bridge each album just keeps topping the last.

Now I'll be tentively watching UG for more updates on AB. Some of the better news about any band I've heard in a long time.

Alter Bridge is the best band in the world...by far..I can confidently say that with one album...and believe me...you guys seriously do not know what u are in for...the albums gonna be the best album of the 00's...Alter Bridge is here to save rock/metal

Marshall quit Creed on their last album, he got pissed off at Stapp or something. That's why Tremonti had to play it. Now he's back in action in Alter Bridge.

In my opinion, Chis Cornell's voice has vastly improved from the "Out of Exile" album and tour. Anyway, Alter Bridge is a decent band. I'll probably give the album a listen when it comes out.

well,i dun mean to bring down anyone's spirits on this album...but the first album was so-so to me..the guitar work sounds quite the same on every track...in short,they're not that much of an interesting band...

but i still agree with them being a great band..

Dude some members of Creed were Christian but the band as a whole were always at pains to point out that they were not a Christian band. And who cares if they say ****? Tremonti's solos kick some serious ass, man.

That sounds like something my mother would say! lol Creed was not a Christian band, and the word f*** is just a f***ing word! lol And as far as Tru's Solos: I've heard solos from countless guitarists, and to me Mark Tremonti is one of the greatest Guitarists of all time.

Creed is the past, Alter Bridge is the future. The past consisted of three great band memmbers with a air headed, arrogent lead singer, who was too in love with himself, who claimed he was an honest, Christian man. This threw Creed in the direction of Christians, who believed the band was Christian rock. Now they're split up, and Alter Bridge is the future. They're not concentrating on flashy videos that focus on the wind hitting them and their shirts flying open, they're concentrating on MUSIC & TOURING. That's what a band should concentrate on, damnit! No false images, no bullshit, no Scott, no drama. Just awesome solos, great beats and the talent to be one of the greatest bands of all time! ALTER BRIDGE IS THE FUTURE!!!
