Bad Religion Come Back?

Legendary Los Angeles punkers Bad Religion have planned to record a new album sometime before 2005 ends -- it is widely expected to be released in 2006, frontman Greg Graffin said recently. The record is the follow-up to last year's "The Empire Strikes First". However, the group has not said an another official word about the new album as of yet.

Greg Graffin and guitarist Brett Gurewitz have written about 20 songs or more while touring behind with their previous album "The Empire Strikes First". They have not stopped touring since last spring and until fall, which marks the last tour of their previous album.

Also during 2005, Bad Religion will release a live DVD, entitled "Live At The Palladium". It is due out sometime September, as Greg Graffin said in an interview for the famous Los Angeles, California modern rock station KROQ 106.7FM.

Awesome. Im just starting getting into these older punk bands. Quite good actually, it just shows what happens when your exposed to too much Pop-Punk/Emo.. You think all punk is crap.

Bad Religion is awesome...they're classic. Everyone should own multiple Bad Religion CD's...Greg is a great vocalist, so...long live the kings!

I think the empire strikes back was a step down from there previous efforts. They're finding it very hard to come up with new material. The lyrics never really disapoint though.

Most people don't own that album. He uses the moniker "American Legion." It's a pretty good album, just Graffin and a piano.

If you guys are interested in older bad religion, check out recipe for hate, eddie vedder lends his pipes on one track and the whole album is bomb. Also the 80-85 collection is stellar. They'll go anywhere the president says, like all good soldiers...

empire strikes first is their best. the songs just seem like they spent more time on them instead of just throwing shit together.

One of the best Punk bands around... its a shame they are in a genre that is commonly associated with the wank we hear coming from modern "punk" bands.

Justice-For-All wrote on 07/18/2005 - 07:14 pm / quote |
Without a doubt the greatest punk bnad of all time, can't wait to hear their new stuff. How Could Hell Get Any Worse is by far their best album .

ClashRocker66 wrote on 07/18/2005 - 08:01 pm / quote |
*laughs hysterically*...M3talJ3ff read the article, and i suggest you check out some of their music. Amazing punk band from the early 80's and is almost the only real true to their roots punk rock band around from that era. Check out Recipe For Hate and Gray Race. Those are my two fav albums. Glad to see their going to come up with some new material, should be good.

Stranger Than Fiction was their last good album...there were only 1 or 2 good songs on each album after that. Plus, what the *** is up w/ all their old albums being "remastered" when they already sounded good?

Forbidden Beat wrote on 07/19/2005 - 03:11 am / quote |
Can't wait for their DVD, it's going to be pretty awesome.

these guys are a great punk band. There stuff is what punk should be...political music. Punk started as political music. "we've got the american jesus
see him on the interstate,
we've got the american jesus
he helped build the president's estate"
