Canadian Rock band, the Barenaked Ladies, will be coming to the US for their first live DVD, titled 'Talk To The Hand: Live In Michigan'. The DVD will be released on November 6th, and their new live album will be coming with it.
Not that this should be odd for an act like the Barenaked Ladies. The band is known for their live performances, where they often stop shows to talk to audience members or sing impromptu songs about a fan. Because of the tight relationship between the band and its fans, their podcast on iTunes put them at #1 in both the US and Canada, and sold nearly 10 million copies of their albums, helping put them at platinum/gold status.
The DVD was filmed on June 15th, 2007 at the DTE Energy Music Theatre in Clarkston, MI in front of 15,000 fans. Talk To The Hand contains a mix of the band's biggest hits like their chart topper "One Week" and "If I Had $1,000,000", as well as some fan favorites and new tracks off the band's most recent releases. Consumers will have a choice of purchasing the concert live on CD with a companion live DVD in the same package, or buying the DVD separately.
In keeping with the band's quirky sense of humor, their chosen title of Talk To The Hand: Live In Michigan comes from the comical observation that the state of Michigan is shaped like a hand.
