The Beastie Boys have announced that they’re already working on the follow-up to their 2007 instrumental album "The Mix-Up".
"We're actually in the middle of recording it right now. We hope to have it out sometime next year. It's a lot of vocals, a lot of words - very wordy. And it's political, depending on what you call political. You know, if toilet talk and fart jokes are political, which they can be, in that sense yeah, very," said band member Adam Horovitz also known as "Ad-Rock" to Billboard.com.
This will be the band’s first album since 2007’s "
The Mix-Up" and their first with lyrics since 2004’s "
To The 5 Boroughs".
The Beastie Boys are also preparing to embark on a short "Get Out And Vote" tour in support of the upcoming United States General Election. The tour begins in Charlotte, N.C. on October 27 and will features acts such as Sheryl Crowe, Jack Johnson, and Tenacious D among others.
