Reports are circulating that a biopic of late guitar god Jimi Hendrix is being developed by Legendary Pictures.
The production company are planning to seek approval from Hendrix's estate after the film has been developed, although the agreement is seen as "loose" as nothing as yet has been set in stone, Variety reports.
This isn't the first time that a biopic of
Hendrix has been proposed. A previous attempt in 2006 by
Dragonslayer Films and
John Hillman failed to be met with approval from
Janie Hendrix who runs the late star's estate. It was consequently prevented via a High Court injunction as it was claimed the film makers didn't have the rights to use
Hendrix's likeness or image.
Hendrix, who was recently voted the best electric guitarist of all time in a magazine poll, died in 1970.
