Bob Dylan Christmas Album Coming

Bob Dylan is set to release an album of Christmas songs this holiday season.

As first reported on the website BullyPulpit.com, at least four songs have already been recorded for the album including, "Must Be Santa," "Here Comes Santa Claus," "I'll Be Home For Christmas" and "O Little Town Of Bethlehem."

According to the report, sessions have occurred at Jackson Browne's Santa Monica, Calif. recording studio.

Dylan, who was born Robert Zimmerman, will join a music business tradition of Jewish artists who release Christmas-themed albums, including Neil Diamond and Phil Spector. Irving Berlin, who wrote the yuletide classic "White Christmas," was also Jewish. Although he was born Jewish and seems to have returned to the faith, Dylan went through a "born again" Christian phase from 1979-1981, releasing several gospel-style albums including "Slow Train Coming" and "Saved."

Dylan's most recent album, "Together Through Life," was released in April, entered the Billboard 200 at No. 1 and has sold more the 300,000 copies to date according to Nielsen SoundScan.

He was born Jewish, then converted to Christianity, then now he's part of no organize religion.

Hopefully it will be good, interesting to see what he does with christmas music. Seems like it would be sad or something. Hard to imagine, but Dylan is amazing, he'll do something good out of it.

As much as I adore Bob Dylan, I have to agree.
The man's a legend though. He knows what he's doing by now, and I trust that he'll do us fans good again with this.

Lol one of his music videos, Beyond here lies nothing has a girl getting beat up by a drunk guy and now he's covering light-hearted christmas songs. But atleast the songs that were shown aren't totally light hearted. I'll be home from christmas is pretty sad. I hope it sounds like his rock stuff like Bob Dylan's 155th dream

Dylan's awesome enough to do a Christmas album. I honestly think this'll be pretty cool.

I'd like to see him do a cover of Everlong. Dave Grohl said in an interview he talked to Dylan when the Foo were opening for him and Dylan said he was a fan of Everlong.

I'm just really curious to see how it sounds, whether its good or not is another story, its just odd and I'm curious to see how it works out. It could be good, afterall! Bob Dylan wouldn't **** something like that up lol. Although, I much prefer Donovan over Bobby, but they're equally as cool lol.

Love Dylan. The man is a genius. He has basically written the Dictionary. HE's written like 4 million songs and they are all good, well most of them. I think maybe he has finally just ran out of ideas, and hit some sort of Writer's Block. Maybe he has nothing else to say. Maybe he's already said every thing, so there's nothing else to say. haha
Or maybe it's just something he wants to do. Like some sort of Life Goal, a bucketlist achievement. Something he must do before he kicks the bucket.
I don't know, but I'll check it out.
