Chevelle Begin Work On Next Album

Chevelle plans to hit the road again as the Chicago trio continues to support its 2007 album, "Vena Sera". The band has been home since early December and drummer Sam Loeffler told The Pulse of Radio that they've started working on new material at frontman Pete Loeffler's house.

"We have, like, a writing studio at his house, which is great, because we're just able to just sit back, try ideas, and drink some booze at the bar, that kind of thing," he said. "When we actually get it sort of together, we'll go to our regular rehearsal studio and start to, like, lay down basically what would be demos."

The upcoming tour will also feature Finger Eleven.

"Vena Sera" is Chevelle's fourth album and features the current single, "I Get It". The next track to head to rock radio will be "The Fad".

The CD marked the recording debut of bassist Dean Bernardini. He replaced Joe Loeffler, brother of Sam and Pete.

Chevelle has confirmed only one date so far in 2008, in January 31 at Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan.

Thanks for the report to Blabbermouth.net.

Isn't it a little soon for another Chevelle album? That tour sounds awesome though, Chevelle and Finger Eleven are two of my favorite bands.

There just working on songs right now. It probably won't be out until the end of this year or early next year. But hey, that's better than waiting 2 and a half years like the last one. Anyway, I can't wait to see Chevelle live again, but I'd rather not see Finger 11 with them again.

Vena Sera is a pretty weak album, but the 2 or 3 songs that are good are pretty good. I'm skeptical of the new material.

sweet I always like Chevelles hit songs, but I have been disappointed with the entire albums. Hopefully this album is different.

YUS! Another your AND writing for a new CD? That makes me happy. And I'm glad they'll be touring with Finger 11. They're pretty cool. I hope I get to see them again.

i think they should have made the new single "straight jacket fashion" instead of "the fad." The fad sounds a lot like nirvana. lol

I'm still heartbroken after missing the Chevelle and Taproot concert a couple years ago because the brakes in my car turned to shit and I couldn't drive out to Chicago on them. Vena Sera isn't terrible, but it's nothing special either. Hopefully the new cd doesn't feel so forced.

No album is too soon.

VS is a good album IMO and it have its holes just like most albums do. What I like to see on the new one is for Pete to let Dean come up with some bass lines that doesn't follow the guitar. I don't want to hear the same riffs from those two all the time.

Hope it's better than VS, I want another TTOT level album. Hope they come by my city again this year too.

I liked Vena Sera, of course I started liking Chevelle right around when Vena Sera came out and all I've heard from the other albums is just their singles, but I like those songs. The new album sounds really exciting, and RockMusicFan is right, the new album won't be coming out for a good while. And there are lots of better songs on that album than "The Fad," it's not a bad song, but there are better.

The Fad isn't the new single though, I Get It is.

I got into this band when Vena Sera came out. My favorite song is I Get It but the music video is just so god damn awful

aebers79 :
I Get It's music video was extremely low budget cause their record wouldn't give them much money, so they just shot it with some friends without much money.

I would love another ttot style album. Vs was great but nowhere near the caliber of ttot or even wwn. Still, isnt this a bit early?

Yay! can't wait for the new album also,i agree that there are better tracks on this album that should be singles rather than the fad even though that song isn't that bad

Vena Serra was very disappointing. After Wonder What's Next, I was hoping for a super post-grunge destroyer like it and I ended up wondering what's next after Vena Sera. This Type of Thinking was even huger, and had that midevil edge to it that sent chills down my spine. Every time I listen to "Get Some", I feel this primal tingle in my head. It's very powerful music.

Vena Sera has never gotten even close to making me feel that way.
