Children Of Bodom New Album Info

Famous metal group Children Of Bodom announced a quite while ago that there were plans to hit the studio and have a new album prepared for late 2010 or the beginning of 2011. The band has now finished all of the recording, and are planning to release the CD early next year.

The title of this upcoming release will be “Relentless Reckless Forever”, and it will be due out on March 8th. This album will be the Finnish metal group’s seventh full studio album, and the first since 2008 saw Blooddrunk. The band wrote a total of nine original songs for the upcoming album, along with one cover song (which is “gonna be f-cking funny as sh-t”, according to guitarist Alexi Laiho).

As for the material itself, the songs on Relentless Reckless Forever are apparently going to be the group’s best yet in terms of song writing, technical skill, and energy in general. The three track names that have been released are “Was It Worth It?”, “Pussyfoot Miss Suicide”, and “Ugly”. A music video for the single “Was It Worth It” was filmed earlier in October.

The new music will be released under the Universal Music label and will be produced by Matt Hyde (well known for his work with groups like Slayer and Hatebreed). All of the music was recorded in Finland’s own Pertax Studios.

“We worked super hard on this album, at least for me it was pretty much no sleep or rest for six weeks. But we were determined to make the best COB album ever, so we were willing to do whatever it took,” said guitar hero Alexi Laiho. “Of course, having our producer Matt Hyde kicking our asses 24/7 definitely made the results even better, so obviously we’re more than anxious to get this album out there.”

So if you’re a Children Of Bodom fan and are looking forward to some new material, make sure you pick up a copy of Relentless Reckless Forever, as it could very well be the band's best effort yet.

not a huge fan of the song titles, but I have a feeling they've seen the response to their last 2 albums and may return to their roots.

Blooddrunk was one of the biggest disappointments ever. If this sounds more like Hatecrew Deathtoll or Follow the Reaper I will be ecstatic.

wel the couple of years 2010 and 2011 seems to be an absolutely perfect duo in terms of musical experiences. I'm from CZE and in 2010 there were Children of Bodom, Ensiferum, Sepultura and many others on Brutal Assault (even though i missed quite a few of them since i was stoned as never before ), Amon Amarth, Finntroll and others on Metalfest, and there were concerts of Hatebreed, Slash and Joe Satriani in Prague. And in 2011, Children of Bodom and Black Label Society will play in Prague... I couldn't be happier, and I'm only counting live performances, not releasing albums...

I'm pretty pumped for this. I didn't mind Blooddrunk, but the only songs I thought really stuck out were Banned From Heaven, and the cover of Ghost Riders In The Sky. If the new one sounds anything like Are You Dead Yet? I'll be delighted.

I love Bodom, and will definately pick this album up. I am however a little concerned, especially considering the song titles. I know there have been some weird ones before (Bodom Beach Terror, Hate Me, Living Dead Beat, Roadkill Morning, etc.) but these seem just a little too... popish maybe? Still, I suppose the titles have very little to do with the music itself, so there's still a chance! Considering how critical Alexi is of his material, and how he's stated Hatebreeder and HCDR are his favorites, it must be a good sign that he's claiming it to be their best work yet ('Course he could just be saying that for publicity, but I doubt it).

I hope to God we see at least SOMEWHAT of a return to the old days. As long as it doesn't sound anything like AYDY I'll be a happy camper.

Word. Follow the Reaper is so close too! I'm stoked for this, but I hope it is more like their first few albums. Blooddrunk is good, but it was kind of disappointing.

Hatebreeder is an epic imo. Something Wild is my second fav by CoB. after HCDC they started going in a different direction, maybe because of Roope. i really enjoyed the old neo-classical stuff. hoping this new album with it's meh song titles will somewhat return to that...probably not.

Does anyone else think it's kind of a cop out that he said it will be his best album because he worked his ass off for six weeks? Come on man, give us some memorable riffs this time, not just something decent you came up with because your record label only wanted to pay for six weeks in a studio. They need to write stuff before they go to the place where they're supposed to be recording it.

im really looking forward to this as well but im sick of people thinking that COB has to write the album for them in general if Alexi says its the best yet its not for publicity but for the fact that hes satisfied with his work and as far as staying up for six weeks writing that is actually pretty hard core because bands that have been around as long as them are pretty used to writing with each other and can pop out songs in a days time if not less alexi is very skilled and doesnt have a problem writing badass riffs and people got to get over the fact that the song names seem silly if you havent noticed cob is a band full beer drinking metal heads who are just having a badass time living the rockstar life so what if they sound funny i bet there going to be full of beating the shit out of your face riffs i wish people could just except that
