Cure Album Next Year

Cure vocalist Robert Smith has revealed that the band is planning a new album to be released April 2006.

Speaking at the annual Benicassim Festival in Spain he said: "We’re recording October, November and December and the new album will be released on my birthday [21st April]."

Smith added that he aims to work with Suzie and The Banshees songwriter, and previous Cure producer, Steve Severin later this year.

As previously reported, in June The Cure recruited their old guitarist to re-join the band's line-up -- guitarist Perry Bamonte and keyboard player Roger O'Donnell had left it earlier.

Now this si how it's supposed to be done, not bands saying 'hmm, we might start recording soon and have an album out in the future.' He's told us that they are to being recording in two months and when the album will be released. Mark your calendars.

The Cure is nice relaxed music
and I don't think it really is goth rock as that is defined nowadays, more like New Age or Alternative Rock

No emo, it's SIOUXSIE. If you are over 40 you've never heard of them, and are missing out. If you are under 30 you've heard them plenty, but covers by 311, Perfect Circle, and many more. We didn't call it GOTH back then, we were called MODS. Dark clothes, a little eyeliner, but not the jet-black hair, trenchcoats and chains. That's GOTH.
