David Bowie Tribute Album Release Date And Tracklisting Announced

Called 'We Were So Turned On', the 2-disc compilation is due out on September 6, reports Stereogum.

The collection features the likes of Duran Duran, Devendra Banhart's Megapuss, A Place To Bury Stranger, Vivian Girls and Swahili Blonde with John Frusciante.

MGMT and Soulwax were among the names set to appear on the album, but scheduling and recording conflicts have since ruled both acts out.

All profits from the album are set to go to the charity Warchild.

most of these people are from indie record labels, like manimal, and are actually weird enough to pull off some stuff like the awesome "african night flight" and songs from low. just listen to it like its a band you know.
