SlashsTopHat91 :
This sounds like it will be better than their other stuff, as long as they are being truthful with what they say about it.

I liked Narrow Stairs at times, but it was admittedly a bit flat, hit or miss with the latter being the majority. Hopefully this next record will go back to the lightheartedness and easy listening of Transatlanticism.

FiveStarMotel :
I liked Narrow Stairs as well, it was mostly very good. But there were a few songs on there that were just mediocre. Cath... is not one of those songs. Cath... was effin brilliant. But "Plans" Oh my god, what an album.

mawood83 :
totally agree with FiveStarMotel..Transatlanticism was a great album too, start to finish

Wicked.

Hope they go back to the Transatlanticism or Photo Album days.

I love Ben Gibbard, he's a genius.

I like Narrow Stair, but Transatlanticism is much better IMO. Dunno what to expect from a "softer" record, but I'm confident there will at least be a couple of songs I like.

I've pretty much loved all of their stuff so far, so I'm sure I'll be fine with whatever they happen to put out. I enjoyed Narrow Stairs quite a bit, but my favorite has to be Transatlanticism. Title track = one of my favorite songs. Woo Death Cab!

The_Paranoia :
Please make another album like "Plans" or "Transatlantacism." Narrow Stairs was amazing, but Plans and Transatlantacism are A+++++ albums.

Seriously,
am I the only person in the world that didn't really like Plans??

"Crooked Teeth"
"Brothers on a Hotel Bed"
"I Will Follow You Into the Dark"
and "Soul Meets Body" were the only songs I really liked.

Transatlanticism was awesome.
The Photo Album was awesome.
Narrow Stairs was awesome.
The only songs on Narrow Stairs I didn't like were "You Can Do Better Than Me" and "Pity and Fear." Other than those, the album was pretty much perfect for me.

No matter what,
if it's Death Cab for Cutie,
I'm excited!! :]

Narrow Stairs was amazing start to finish. One of the best, if not the best album of 2008 in my opinion. Can't wait for the next one!

I totally agree.. even with the songs you picked.

It wasn't bad or anything, but It wasn't the best.

Transatlanticism is THE BEST of Death Cab. So brilliant and beautifully crafted.

I have nothing against Plans, but Transatlanticism was just an incredible album. We Looked Like Giants pretty much sums that entire album in my opinion, even better than Transatlanticism does.

I'm looking forward to this.

Ha, I read this as I listen to Transatlanticism.

Awesome, I'm glad their moving into a softer direction.
I'm pretty confident anything they will do will be beautiful,
and I'm really excited to hear it. All of their albums have a different
feel to them and I'm pretty excited to see where they'll go. I'm sure
their next album won't be out for a while though.

Another Postal Service album would be a great career choice for Ben right now and would make me so very happy.

If what he sais is true, then we might be looking at a new Transatlanticism. Which was the greatest album ever produced.

However it turns out, its Death Cab. Theres no going wrong with this band.
