After many years of speculation of a new album, Casey Royer (ex-Social Distortion, The Adolescents and ADZ) and co. recently announced that D.I.'s long-awaited follow-up to 1994's "State of Shock" will be released sometime this summer, according to Europunk.net. An offiical title and release date are to be announced for the time being. More information regaring the long-awaited new release remains unknown. Also, the band is currently unsigned.
A year has passed since D.I. stated that they had begun writing more material for the album (read
story on UG) and returned to the studio to complete it. For many years since the reunion, the band had been in and out of the studio several times continuing to work on the follow-up to "
State Of Shock" and it was originally due for release sometime around 2004, but was not yet completed and D.I. were no longer associated with Cleopatra Records, who released their 2002 compilation album "Caseyology". The band remained unsigned ever since.
Due to many delays, D.I. have been touring constantly since reuniting for good in the early 2000s, even when they supported the "Caseyology" compilation. The band unexpectedly split up sometime in 1995 after the release of their last album "State Of Shock", which had also received lukewarm reviews and poor sales.
