Disturbed Start Recording Next Album

Disturbed has hit the studio in its hometown of Chicago to begin recording its fifth album, with a tentative summer release date planned. The group has not yet announced a title for the project, which will follow up 2008's "Indestructible".

Guitarist Dan Donegan told The Pulse of Radio that Disturbed had 15 to 18 songs ready to go, adding that the band doesn't like to waste time once it gets started. "I mean, we definitely go in there very prepared," he said. "We never enter the studio unless we feel like, right now, if these are the songs we record, that we would have an album that we're proud of and we're excited about. And we put everything under the microscope and examine it the best we can to make sure that we're prepared. We don't like going in there wasting time. We go in there to work, and to try to make the best album we can."

Meanwhile, the band has set March 23 as the release date for the 10th anniversary edition of its debut album, "The Sickness". The set, which will also be available on vinyl, will feature B-sides, new artwork, and exclusive online content.

Around the same time, the group will re-launch its website with a special section, accessible only by a code included with new copies of "The Sickness", that will feature clips of the quartet in the studio recording their new album.

i met these guys, didn't get to talk to them, but they were still pretty friendly, it was a standard signing though. so i ended up getting their newest albums autographed by all 4 members of the band. it was awesome. hopefully this song has more songs i like. they have a niche in their albums where they have a song with the exact same structure (i'm alive and enough) (in the last two albums at least) or very similar structure. and they are by far my favorite songs from them, aside from sickness which is 3rd for me, and then their newest singles (inside the fire and perfect insanity). then some other songs in their repertoire that i can listen to without getting bored. anyways back on topic. i hope this album is good, they usually deliver on just straight modern rock. in my opinion at least

When "Indestructible" was being talked about I kept thinking to myself "I have no idea how they're gonna top fists." Now I'm asking how the new album is gonna top "Indestructible."
I have very high hopes for this album and I don't think they will disappoint.

Disturbed has always had well put together albums. There one of the few bands I know where the whole album is worth buying anymore. I expect good things to come from this album.

Yeah, Disturbed is definitely the overrated ultra-mainstream band that everyone listens to nowadays. Their first 2 albums were ok, but now, its like having your iPod on repeat for an hour or two

i'm glad to hear you guys are doing okay. making music, doing what you love- that's all fine and dandy. i just wish you could do me a favor first. its nice to know you're good at something. well, just one thing: making grizzled riff chuggers that express your rage at, well, something. or maybe nothing, i can't really tell because mr. draiman must have missed the enunciation lesson. i hope, just this once, you try and use the musical talent you have to do something new, exciting, even powerful. unlike the rest of your music, it may just be good. and if its not, twelve year olds will shove out $15 of their parent's money to hear it anyways.
