After playing select shows in Switzerland, Germany, Austria, USA and Canada to give fans a chance to get "up close and personal" with new singer Marc Hudson, UK based metal heroes Dragonforce have announced their first UK headline concert with Hudson on February 16 at at the 100 Club on Oxford Street in London, reports Blabbermouth.net.
The gig is timed to give Dragonforce fans an opportunity to celebrate with the band the Chinese New Year, the Year of the Dragon, and the fact that the group's new album is finally finished and due for release in the spring.
Commented guitarist Herman Li: "We are all glad to be finished in the studio, especially given that the new record is sounding fantastic! We're looking forward to letting off steam at the 100 Club and announcing that in the Year of the Dragon, Dragonforce are well and truly back!"
Dragonforce performed two brand new songs — "Lost Fallen World" (described by singer Marc Hudson as "the fastest, most extreme Dragonforce song so far") and "Cry Thunder" — during its October 21, 2011 concert at the Gramercy Theater in New York City. Fan-filmed video footage of the show can be seen below.
After entries from thousands of hopefuls across the globe, Dragonforce in March 2011 welcomed 23-year-old Marc Hudson to the band to fill the boots left by ZP Theart, who parted ways with the group in March 2010.
The band has been working on a new album since early 2010, recording in various studios in California, London and the South of France. The follow-up to 2008's hugely successful "Ultra Beatdown" album will be highly anticipated, with top 10 and top 20 chart positions all over the world and a Grammy nomination in the United States setting the precedent.
I haven't been very into DF for quite a while, but this album may be one to bring me back. From what I've seen/heard, this album is going to have a lot more variety than usual for them. On one hand there's Cry Thunder, which is a completely different kind of song for DF(very large irish influence), and then there's Lost Fallen World which is the most insane one to date.
Not to mention their new singer is pretty awesome.
Been looking forwarrd to this, very impressed by Cry Thunder - something completely different compared to their other stuff, it sounds more 'power metal' than 'extreme widdly diddly power metal'.
As long as all the songs don't sound the same I'm happy. I love Dragonforce and all, but I can't listen to more than 3 fast songs in a row without being bored...
"And into the kingdom of fire, behold the secret eyes of desire, as we soar up in to the clooooouds!"
Hey look I can write a new Dragonforce album, too.
I dont give flaming arse what people say, I love me some DragonForce, one of my first fav metal bands. good memories lol :P
Can you please explain "lol"? I'm afraid I don't understand the meaning given the context.
I'd venture to guess that there isn't one. It's just a internet habite caused constant text and facebook messages. When you don't know what to say you "lol" or you finish a sentence with "lol" even if you just told someone their whole family died in a house fire, just before it was struck by a meteor. I sometimes do it as well, but it is admittedly stupid and pointless most of the time.
i REALLY wish sam would stop writing the lyrics. if the guitars took to the back, and the keys and vocals came to the forefront, i'd be much happier with these guys. their new vocalist is ridiculous.

DragonForce is one of those bands that can pull off good stuff, it's just that they all sound the same. Instead of the basic song formula, the bridge becomes a four minute guitar circle jerk. Joe Satrini is a great guitarist, and he didn't have to use 16th notes in all of his solos and didn't make video game sounds, which are just using effects and harmonics.
DragonForce is a guilty pleasure to me, but they're going the same road where Nickelback is going down to where every song starts to sound the same, and if you listened to one album, you've heard it all.
Oh, come on guys, at least they're a band with some actual talent, it's getting harder to come by. Besides, their new vocalist kicks ass, it won't hurt to give the album a try.
im friends with the band, i talk to fred and sam on a normal basis. they dont take their shit seriously, and neither should you. theyre a fun listen, and a great live show. thats it.
oh and just throwing this to all the people who say its all just fast shit. have you actually listened to any album fully? theres at least 2-3 slower paced songs on each album

We've all noticed that they don't take their shit seriously
Every time a band even gets remotely popular, the people on this site call them the equivalent of Nickelback. You guys must like the most obscure music there is. Good grief. You're like metalhead hipsters.
Been waiting for this for a good while now. Really hyped, UB was awesome. No news on what this album is called?
UB was their worst. Inhuman rampage was the best.
I actually favored Sonic Firestorm. Dawn Over a New World, Fury of the Storm, Above the Winter Moonlight, and Once in a Lifetime were all kickass songs. It's a shame most people only pay attention to the newer two. Hopefully this will be more well produced than the others. I always thought that was Dragonforce's biggest problem
....no im not... I am kidding. They probably took their last album and played it backwards... Recorded it and added dub step to it to increase sales and sound more current and radio friendly.
Dragonforce's guitars and all will probably sound the same, but the vocals,I'm sure, will be way different.Zp started to lose his voice after Ultra Beatdown.
i'm really excited to see what the change in vocalist will do. and tbh i don't see what people dislike about the guitar work. it's fast and melodic, and almost nostalgic.
lol hopefully the new singer will be better at writing with a wide variety of lyrics, and not jam it full of so far a-****ing-way :L
note: im not hating on dragonforce, the old lyrics were just quite annoying tho :')

Dear Drgaonforce,
While you were away, the world was given Steel Panther as a comedic gift to metal. However unlike you, they can play live and have lyrics which are funny, Your services are no longer required. Please stop.

All Metalheads with a sense of humour of drinking age.
im sorry but this is garbage, Music for guys without gf's
IIRC Tesla was asexual so that's a funny comment
So by your logic, because he's a fan that must mean he follows all the same values and beliefs then, correct? That's what your argument is, I'm getting this right?
Hugely successful my arse, i saw them supporting iron maiden and they just played the same song 10 times and got booed off. A band designed to steal money from guilable 12 year olds
I've had a few listens to the 2 new songs posted on here and I actually like Cry Thunder but Lost and Fallen World is just the same old wankery..After 20 seconds I was like ffs my processor has frozen...nope thats just their music
i was at the new singers first concert in belfast when they were opening for iron madien i think it was the first time this song was played i thought the lyrics were dry thunder which i thought was cooler
The lyrics will be about dragons, wizards, and magic.
Interesting..you probably never listened to DragonForce, right? Even though they have the word 'dragon' in their names, they have only one song where they have dragons, called "Where dragons rule"..

2 songs actually. Where Dragons Rule and Heart of a Dragon.
But both on on their first album and they have literally no songs about Wizards and Magic so yeah, you comment is 100% correct other than that.
99% of the bashing on Dragonforce comes from people who've heard maybe 1 song. Sad, but true.
