Gene Simmons Confirms New Kiss Album

Kiss bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons has told Jane Stevenson of Canada's Sun Media that the veteran glam rockers are writing songs for a new album that he expects they will record next year and release next summer. Kiss singer/guitarist Paul Stanley will produce the disc. The band will follow the album's release with a limited tour.

"We'll do a handful of shows just to keep in the game (next) summer, maybe 10 (dates), some Canadian shows," Simmons told the Sun Media. "I know Halifax is one, but before you get out there and start the baseball season, they hold exhibition games, that's what we're doing. 'Cause once we go out, it's going to be for a year and a half."

As for rumblings of a co-headlining tour with Queen, Simmons said, "Oh, I've heard that, but we don't know until it's real. I would be happy to step up on that stage. I'd (also) love to step up on a stage with the Stones."

Thanks for the report to Blabbermouth.net.

I love kiss. I bought an Iceman because Paul Stanley had one too. My User name is starchild. Clearly I'm not bashing, but Revenge and Carnival of Souls are the only good Kiss albums to be released since Love Gun. Thats 2 good albums in 30 years. I seriously dread how awful a new album is gonna be. The last Stanley solo was so awful is brought me to tears (although it provided the montage in the South Park WoW episode). That being said, I would sell my gypsies to see Kiss again. Even if no Ace.

Cool! I live near Halifax! Sucks that we gotta wait that long though. I don't really care about the album cause it will probably suck. I just want to see them live.

This awesome news etiher way! Imagine this concert tour:

Stones, AC/DC, Aerosmith, Kiss, Stooges. I would be in heaven.

Now Rock and Roll "Hall of Fame", the finale of this tour would be a perfect time to correct your mistake and induct the best band in the world!

are you serious? carnival of souls is the worst album kiss ever released. Creatures of the Night, Unmasked, and Dynasty are all great Kiss albums. I agree Paul's solo album was a huge disappointment, but he's always been the most solid songwriting in KISS. If this album is gonna be like a classic kiss album, i expect it to be awesome

i couldn't agree more. the only reason i ever really liked em was cuz of ace, and even then thats only barely. i respect em and all for sticking around for so long, but this new album is gonna be shit, i can just imagine it now...

AWESOME! Hopefully it will be like what AC/DC just did. AC/DC havent released an album in 8 years and they had time to write awesome songs. KISS hasn't released one in what 10 or 12 years? But hey, I saw them in vegas this year and I would sure as hell see them again no matter how good or bad the album is. It would be cool to see them with Aerosmith or the Stones or even Queen even with Freddie Mercury gone. \,,/_

UK show not at a festival please.

all the UK festivals are horrible and KISS are usually the only band worth seeing, and paying Ј65 to see one band is not an option.

Let's hope it's not as bad as Metallica's. Or AC/DC's. Or Guns 'N Roses'...

the rolling stones have more talent in one bad song, than KISS has in their entire song history. That would be an AWFUL show.
