GN'R 'Negotiating' To Release New Album, Speak About Losing Guitarist

With a new management team in place, Guns N' Roses are "in negotiations" for the release of its decade-in-the-making album "Chinese Democracy," according to a post on the band's web site.

The message did not elaborate on what the discussions concern, or offer an approximate release date for "Chinese Democracy," which was last on Interscope's release schedule in March 2007.

In other GNR news, guitarist Robin Finck has left the Axl Rose-led band to return to Nine Inch Nails, and will tour with the latter act this summer.

"Robin's plans caught everyone in Guns, as well as our fans, a bit off-guard," the band says. "Neither we nor management, etc., know any more in this regard and we prefer not to speculate or offer opinions at this time."

"When we begin to put tour plans together, we'll see where things are," the post continues. "Until then, Robin's touring with NIN and we're working with management on our game plans."

2. The Blues - Damn good november rain'esque type of song
3. IRS - kind of an anxl rant but good rock song
4. There was a time - also like november rain and contains some good guitar work.

In total, number 2 and for are lead me to want to hear the rest of the album.

I enjoy the leak of "Better." I hated it at first but it really grew on me and is quite catchy. I have only head live bootlegs of some of the others but they seem fine, I'm sure in the studio versions they will be ok.

I am having doubts, like everyone else, wether this will live up to my expectations, but I'm sure it will at least be an ok album, better than the spaghetti incident? by far (although I liked "aint it fun.")

Second that! A wasted talent Mark Chaussee is! He can play anything Slash wrote (which in GnR was less than people seem to think).

And guys, it is now out of Axl's hands! It's taken so many years and dollars to make this album it's now up to the record company to make it profitable to release. It does seem very odd that all these occurences are happenening at once, hinting at what could be a true GNR reunion. Hehe, Finck was always the weakest leak when I saw them live, they should get Buckethead back, or maybe try and convince Rusty Cooley or Steve Vai. Other than Finck I'd say Axl can pick pretty good guitarists . As for Chinese Democracy, it'll be good to hear when it comes out.....Whenever that may be (2050 anyone?).

People don't know the full story everyone says its Axl's fault... Yes much of the delay is due to Axl, but much more of the delay has been Company wars and nothing to do with what Axl is doing. The album has been in negotiations for the past year and a half now so its been done for a while its just that the company is trying to settle stuff out. It's all about the money for them.

I think that Slash should really think of reuniting with Axl Rose. The chemistry for both bands is terrible, nowadays. Velvet Revolver is done, anyway. I think that VR shouldn't try to reunite, because there never was a real Velvet Revolver. It was just a big hype created to suggest the resurrection of GNR. The Stone Temple Pilots are already reunited.

No... Slash spearheaded that track, Axl came up with most of the lyrics, but Slash came up with the concept and built the body of the song with all the riffs and stuff before giving it to Axl to help finish it.

I doubt that the original Guns line-up will ever reunite (meaning with Slash, Duff, and Axl, not necessarily Tracii Guns), seeing as how Axl and Slash have tried to fix things. And that resulted in some denial from Axl's camp. Even tho it would be a big shock to pretty much the entire civalized world if it happened. But then again, The Police, Van Halen, and alot of other notoriously feud-ridden bands have done tours recently. But on a more related note, nothing that recieves as much hype as this album has can ever live up to it. Even if it was an amaaazing album, it still has been so hyped and pushed back so many times, its not gonna be worth it to alot of ppl.

well, im not sure if im embarrassed or not but... i was am still a little excited about the thought of release of this album. and i do have to say it - even though it hurts my pride - i would pay to see axl even without slash(tears are falling). i grew up on GnR and i want to be able to say i saw GnR before i die instead of just saying i saw velvet revolver...

In my mind, this should be the perfect time for a GNR reunion. Velvet Revolver is falling apart with the whole Scott Weiland thing, and GNR can never manage to hold a lineup. If only these guys could get over themselves for long enough to work some stuff out, the old GNR could get together, the one we regarded as one of the greatest rock bands of all time.

I don't know, maybe the label spending $13 million on the record has something to do with it. Bands also sign these little things called contracts with their labels.

I'm looking forward to hearing the new material, even if I'm 100 years old!! I've been a fan of theirs since the begining. If the original G-n-R members could put aside their differences from the past and do a reunion tour, that would be great. And if they don't, it's ok, because life goes on and I will continue to listen to G-n-R till I'm gone!!!!

Make it March 2010, and that seems a little too soon
