How's this for a trio? Gorillaz, James Murphy, and Andre 300. According to The Sun's Bizarre blog, those are the three artists to take part in the latest installment of Converse’s "Three Artists. One Song" project. Their track, entitled "DoYaThing", will be available on Converse’s website starting February 23rd.
Bizarre adds that "DoYaThing" has a similar beat to tracks on Gorillaz’s most recent LP, "
Plastic Beach", and sees Damon Albarn rapping the opening two verses. There’s also reportedly a 12-minute explicit version, which will be released at a later date.
To go along with the track, Gorillaz’s Jamie Hewlett has created a music video featuring "a baboon in a martial arts outfit and a masked topless bloke".
Gorillaz are expected to formally announced their two collaborators on Thursday.
As previously reported, Gorillaz have also teamed up with Converse to create their very own shoe line.
