Gorillaz Work On New Album

In a recent interview with CBC News, Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett of the Gorillaz announced that they have started working on their third album, despite rumors Albarn circulated last year of the Gorillaz' demise.

The album is expected to be out sometime around March 21st, according to online retailers. A single preceding the album is reported to be released on March 7th. Famed producer Danger Mouse has also been reportedly working with Albarn on finishing up the unnamed album.

"We’re not entirely certain; we generally just go with our gut", Albarn said in response to a question regarding specifics on the new album, "I dunno. We are obtuse and quite abstract, really. We play a game but it’s not strictly the game. Sometimes it really works and sometimes… [Laughs.] Actually, usually it really works."

Hewlett has hinted at vamping up the original Gorillaz animations to suit the upcoming album. "I’m so f---ing bored of drawing those characters. But then we had a moment where we had a new angle on it", Hewlett said in the CDC interview, "I'm gonna adapt them."

I don't like them much aside from a few of their funky rap songs like Feel Good Inc and Clint Eastwood.

Feel Good Inc was the first bassline I learned when I picked up a bass, so that's something.

+1 to del. i was so dissapointed when i missed him at this festival i was at, and the autograph line was wayyy long. i thought demon days was great but my favorite was the self titled, i dont see how this album can fail really, everything theyve put out rocks, plus u cant really put a name with a face, u can be like "Hetfield sucks now!!" but u cant really be like "the tall guy in the gorillaz sucks now!!!"

Like there was The Good, The Bad and The Queen, which was completely different to Blur, which was completely different to Gorillaz (Aside from a few subtle similarities), and I sorta hoped that now he'd once again start something new and completely different.

ug has never been guitar exclusive, and even then, gorillaz does infact have one bitchin guitarist, most times, u just cant hear him at the level of the other instruments

o and, LP is rap but i bet you wouldnt complain about them

They make heavy use of BASS guitar though.
